Busy Weekend - Graduation/Birthday

May 12th

We drove down to VA Tech to see my brother graduate from college. It was weird making the trek down there again, but I'm glad we were able to be with him.

Lindsay did a phenomenal job in the car on the ride down... The ride home? Well, let's just not talk about that!! LOL... Lindsay started getting sick late in the week, so Saturday didn't get start off with the best of footing. We had to leave at 6am to make it down in time for Rusty's graduation, and by the time we met up with everyone, attended the ceremony, met up again to go do dinner, and get his stuff packed in our rental car it was pretty late before we made the trip home. I think we were about 2 hours away when Lindsay started to have her meltdown.

Poor baby was TIRED... tired of feeling sick, tired of being in the car, tired of being restrained in a car seat, tired of everything! She screamed the entire rest of the way back to the house (in the pouring down rain), so it was a very, very, very ~long~ 2 hours. We finally made it home at midnight, and she slept until 1pm on Sunday. All in all, she did a great job! I'm sure it wasn't easy for her, but she was a trooper for over 15 hours!

I can't believe our little girl is 2 years old today! I know everyone always says "it seems like yesterday" but seriously, it does! It's hard to believe that 730 days have gone by since she was born at Holy Cross Hospital that Friday morning at 4:44am.

We had a great day... Lindsay slept in until 1pm, just in time for her little party. Originally we were going to invite everyone over to our house like we did last year, but with the graduation and all the driving, we thought it would be a better idea to keep it on the small side. My parents, brother and grandparents came over as did Jason's parents, sister and boyfriend.

Everyone came over around 1:30pm, and we had a cookout... The food was SO good! Dave (Jason's sisters boyfriend) brought the burgers, and he did an awesome job as grill master. :)

Rusty, my mom and I were in the kitchen trying to get a couple things finished when we heard a little voice say "yum num num num"... We look over, and Lindsay had been eating the frosting on her cake! She's so silly! We've had some "terrible two's" moments, but I really love the little girl she's growing in to. She is adorable and sweet, sassy and tempermental, and I wouldn't want her any other way!

I love you, Lindsay!
