Digital Doodles - Birthday Wishes

Hi everyone! Hope all is well with you! :) Our weather has been cold and rainy lately, but today the sun is shining and the weather couldn't be better... I wish every day could be like this! :) Not too hot, not too cold, just *perfect*.

So, last night I did a little baking, and while I was momentarily distracted getting my pan out of the oven, my 4 year old decided she wanted to *help* clean up and put a WHOLE roll of TP into the toilet... And flushed. Yep, flushed! LOL... When you hear the toilet flush and the words "I think it's broken" coming from from a wee little voice down the hall, you panic! LOL! I think my heart stopped when I saw the water hovering at the rim. Thankfully, it didn't spill over, and after fishing out the offending roll and cardboard, it slowly returned to normal. Good times, good times. *wink*

This card was created using the newest digi image released in Kathy Martin's Digital Doodles line, Party Banner, which is now available at Two Peas. The banner is super cute, and is very easy to cut out, which is a big plus in my book. :)

Instructions:
  • Create white 3 1/4 x 6" card base.
  • Cut cloud patterned paper and adhere to base.
  • Print two banner images, color with Copics and cut out.
  • Cut two strips of green dot paper, create curved edge with exacto knife, distress edges and adhere to base.
  • Print present image, color with Copics, cut out and adhere between hills.
  • Attach banners to card base.
  • Stamp bird image, color with Copics and position on card base.
  • Curve sentiment and stamp in black ink before adhering bird to card base with pop dots.
  • Apply crystal effects to bow on present, solid banner flags, and stickles to the bird's tail and head feathers.

Supplies:
Stamps - Pretty Packages & Party Banner (Digital Doodles), Bird by Recollections, Picnic Basket Sentiments (PTI)
Paper - Stamper's Select White, My Mind's Eye Love Me Do, Green Boutique (PTI)
Ink - True Black, Memento Black, Copics
Miscellaneous - Crystal Effects, Stickles, Distresser, White Gel Pen

The toilet issue? Not so much! LOL! We had locks on the toilets when my son was that age! Made for an unclogged toilet, but no funny memories! :)

  12. Cute card and an even cuter story to go with it. Years ago I was awakened by my 3 year old who said,"Mommy the water in the potty is real big". He had "helped" me by trying to flush almost an entire pack of baby wipes. Your story brought back such a funny memory for me.
