Housekeeping...

Over the past few days, there has been a deluge of Feedblitz subscription cancellations. Since I've come to the realization that I do not have an uber thick skin, and I haven't been able to find the silly box to uncheck in Feedblitz to remove notification for cancellations, I'm going to be removing that particular subscription feature from my blog sidebar.

You will still be able to subscribe via the Google Reader button (I love Reader!) or by becoming a Blogger Follower. Neither of those options will email me to let me know you've left and are no longer stopping by... LOL

I know that subscribers come and go, and that it's not really personal as people's preferences change, but it's really hard not to take it that way... We are our own worst critics, and I'm doing very well being ridiculously critical of my own stamping skills, thank-you-very-much. *wink* LOL

I'm very sorry if this inconveniences any of you, it just kills me to see cancellation after cancellation coming to my inbox. I hope you understand and will continue to stop by...

Thanks.

  2. Hi Heather - completely understand! I'm not an expert in blogging and don't even know how it all works, but I do know that I get performance issues!! Ha ha!! Don't worry - I love your creations!

  7. Hey Heather - More and more folks are moving to Google Reader and other similar services, and that would explain the unsubscribing. I can't imagine any other reason for the mass exodus. So chin up, girlie! I use Google Reader for my not-to-be-missed blogs because I might miss it in my emails.
    Thanks for the inspiration.
    Hugs,
    Colleen

  10. WHAT! Who do they think they are, Heather?! They must not really know! :) Just want you to know you're not the only one! I got some today too! LOL But, I told myself that they're probably joining Google Reader and don't need an e-mail and RSS feed at the same time! Maybe that'll help you too! I'm not sure if it's true, but at least it makes me feel better. So, if it does and you ever want to add e-mail subscription back and turn off the unsubscription notification, you can by logging in to your Feedburner account, click on your feed name, click the Publicize tab, click Email Subscriptions, and to the right towards the bottom there is a box to uncheck that reads "Send me an email whenever people unsubscribe (will be sent to your "from" address)." Just uncheck it and voila - we will never know again! :) I really hope that helps, Heather. I hope you're not too down! Wanna meet up sometime? Just let me know...seriously!

  11. Heather, just so you know, yours was one of the first set of blogs that I follow. I'd never even heard of Etsy until I saw your shop. So, you definitely have a fan in me and I follow your blog via reader, so anytime you have input, I'm there!! Your creations constantly inspire me to step up my game in cardmaking! I agree with you in not wanting to know about cancellations. Ugh!

  12. Heather, I think these people who are unsubscribing must be on crack or something. Maybe they are switching to a different type of feed? At any rate, your cards are absolutely gorgeous!! You really have nothing to be worried about! :)

  15. Dear Heather,
I know you weren't fishing for compliments but I just had to agree with everyone; your blog is one of my favourites! Your clean and simple style is the best!! If people unsubscribe, there must be something wrong with them!! Or maybe they're just jealous :)
Well, I am a die hard fan of yours. I have been for quite some time now. So, chin up chica :)

  16. I got some of those, too... I'm sure that people are just switching to a different style of access - as your creations are too GREAT for someone to quit following. I'll keep up with you in Google Reader. Love your work, Heather!

  20. I'm CERTAIN that these people are just changing to a Reader of some sort, so you're not losing them, you're just helping them be more technologically advanced!

  25. Heather, you're amazing, and I'm sure the cancellations just mean they're subscribing in a different, more convenient way for them. That said, I totally understand! I used to take it personally everytime I got an unsubscribe email, too. I have no idea how I turned it off, but I did (of course then you don't feel the love when someone subscribes, either, LOL!) - wish I could remember. Anyway, hope your new subscription methods work better for you, and please know without a smidge of a doubt - YOU ABSOLUTELY ROCK, GF!!! I mean, seriously, everything I see from you, I smack myself and think, "now why can't I design like THAT!!!"

  28. I know what you mean, Heather! I turned off my notifications...who needs that little jab in the middle of the day?!? You know, it may be a lot of SU! demos. Their new agreement requires their own blogs to be SU only, so they may just be unsub-ing on any blogs that aren't. Don't take it personally, you're amazing!
