Winnie & Walter: Happy Birthday

Hello! It's the second day of sneak peeks for the October Winnie & Walter stamp release! :) My card today features images from one of my *favorite* sets being released this month, Winter Woodland.  I am head over heels for this tree cross-section image, it's so cool! I knew I wanted to use the image as soon as I saw it, I thought it would look great as part of a graphic style card.

To create my card, I started with a medium gray card base, then repeat stamped the cross-section image in versamark, then heat embossed it with white powder.  Next, I cut a yellow strip of CS, and stamped it with the happy birthday sentiment before heat setting with white powder.  I then cut a smaller strip of turquoise CS, and adhered it to the card base.  To finish up, I adhered the sentiment with pop dots and embellished with clear sequins.  This card came together so quickly (minus the time I spend obsessing over making sure I remove any stray grains of embossing powder before heat setting... haha), and may be my favorite project I created this release.

Want to be entered for your chance to win the sets being previewed today? Hop on over to the Winnie & Walter blog for more details! :)

Have a great one!

  6. Hahaha, looks like we were thinking along the same lines with the graphic cross-sections! Even funnier, I had a vellum sentiment on a diagonal in exactly the same spot as yours, but I cut the vellum a little too short and went another direction instead of re-doing it.
