Dirty Dozen Item...

Hey guys! Long time no post... LOL, okay, so it's only been a few days, but it feels like FOREVER. I've been really busy trying to get some things ready for a craft fair that I'm participating in on Saturday, so I haven't had time to make any new cards... Back into the gallery archives we go! :) This little 3D baby carriage was one of the items I made for the June Dirty Dozen Gallery.

Here's how it came together... I cut out two 4 1/2" circles using the George & Basics Shapes Cricut cartridge, then stamped the plaid pattern in Fresh Snow ink. Once the circles were dry, I cut off 1/4 from each circle (the 12 o'clock to 3 o'clock position). Next, I punched out four Basic Black circles, and lined them up on the circles and punched the holes for the brads. I attached them to each side of the carriage, and then put Tacky Strip along the outer edge of the inside of the carriage. I then attached the two sides together with a 2 1/2 x 11" piece of matching CS (giving a 1/4" scored edge along the length of the piece on each side). I found it was easier to create the curves by cutting slits into the scored pieces at every 1/2" or so. LOL, clear as mud? :) To finish up, I added a scalloped edge for the carriage top, a handle, and a little tag.

Happy Friday! I didn't end up staying up late last night to make anything new *sob sob*, but I am determined to do it tonight! I miss my crafty time!

Here's a card I made for the Dirty Dozen July gallery, where the theme was Poolside Paradise... Anyone who knows me knows I am a flip-flop freak, so this was something I knew I wanted to make when we picked the theme. I wear flip-flops year round, even when it's snowing (see, I'm a freak!)... LOL, well, as long as it's not up to my ankles or anything! :)

I traced a vague flip-flop shape onto a piece of white copy paper, then cut it out and used it as a template for my kraft base. I cut out three kraft shapes, then stamped one with the images from Guide Lines. Next, I stamped the smaller flower image from Friends 'Til the End in Memento Black ink and colored it in with Copics. Once that was done, I cut out the bloom, then added a huge aqua brad to the flower center. To finish up, I added the straps for the flip-flops and then sandwiched them between the card front and the extra kraft base I cut out, then attached the card backing. Easy peasy, but super fun results. :)

Hey guys! Can you believe we're already just about halfway through October? It's crazy to think how fast time flies sometimes. Two of my favorite things will be happening tonight... The Papertrey release at midnight (EST), and then the Dirty Dozen gallery opening at 1am (EST)! :)

This is one of the items I made for my big debut back in April. The theme was Going Green, and at first, I was like, what in the world am I going to do with this?! Turns out, it was one of my favorites of the six month term! :) The "Going Green" element on this card is the little hand-made nest I created using some old basket filler I had lying around... I put it in a box, and went to town with some brown Tattered Mist ink... Once it was dry, I rolled it all up into a ball and gave it some shape (I adhered it to the card base with Crystal Effects... LOL, that stuff has a billion uses!).

P.S... I've had some questions about the difference Flickr makes with photos... The Flickr photos are closer to what my photos look like after I'm done editing them in Photoshop... Call me crazy, but I think Bloggers photo uploader degrades the image.

Here's another one of the projects I've done for the SCS Dirty Dozen gallery... May's theme was "Art for Every Woman"... Um, what is that exactly?? LOL Sooooooo, this is what I came up with! Hah!

My daughter had just turned 2 months old, and we had been at the Dr's office that day... Can you say super cranky baby three times fast? :) Oh brother! She was soooo tired, and soooo unhappy, but wouldn't go to sleep. Silly girl! :)

Happy Monday! I hope it's off to a great start. :) My family and I are taking a quick vacation at the Outer Banks this week before school starts up on September 2nd.

Since I don't have my supplies here with me *GASP*, I thought I'd show you some of my favorite projects from my time on the SCS Dirty Dozen from the April & May reveal (we have a three month waiting period before we can show our work).

April's DD theme was "Going Green", so my green element keep with the theme was the soda can butterfly. :)
