WCMD Blog Hop with Winnie & Walter

Hello! It's World Card Making Day, and to celebrate Winnie & Walter is hosting a blog hop, as well as a day filled with card challenges! :) Hopefully you've reached my blog by way of Kimberly Crawford's blog (to start at the beginning of the hop, please click HERE).

To create my card, I started by first stamping one of the leaf images from In Bloom: Renee's Leaves in versafine black ink onto watercolor paper, then heat set them with clear embossing powder.  I then roughly colored the leaves and background with various distress inks.  Since I'm impatient (haha), I decided to zap the watercolor layer with my heat gun to speed things up.  Once the panel was dry, I went back and splattered it with water and letting it set for a moment before blotting up the excess.  I then repeated the process with yellow, green and turquoise inks.  Once I was done splattering and blotting, I heat set the background a final time with my heat gun.  The watercolor layer was then adhered to a light gray card base.

Next, I die cut white and yellow cardstocks using the Big, the Bold and You Cutaways.  I adhered the white layers together, then topped them with the yellow die cut off-centered just a smidge.  Next, I stamped the remainder of the sentiment from the Big, the Bold and You in black ink onto light gray CS.  To finish up, the focal die cut and sentiment were then adhered to the card front, and I embellished with green enamel dots.

Now what's a blog hop without the chance to win some fun prizes?? :) To be entered to win one of 3 $25 gift certificates to the Winnie & Walter shop, all you need to do leave a comment on each of the hop participant's blogs along the way (winners will be chosen at random from all comments left on all the blogs).

Thanks for stopping by my blog today, next stop on the hop is Lydia Evans' blog.  Have a great one!
