Prickley Pear Blog Hop - Bigger Than Your Fear

Hello! CardMaker Magazine has teamed up today with Prickley Pear for a blog hop to showcase some of their adorable products. :) Hopefully you've reached my blog by way of Lisa McGushion's blog, but if you'd like to start at the beginning of the hop, please click HERE.

To create my card, I first started by cutting a piece of watercolor paper to 4 x 5.25", and stamping it with the Let Your Faith Be Bigger stamp set in Versafine black ink.  I then stamped the remainder of the panel with the Petunia stamp set in Versafine black ink.  Once the images were stamped, I then heat set them using clear embossing powder.

The images were then colored with watercolor paints, and zapped with the heat gun to reduce dry time.  Once the panel was dry, a coral ribbon was adhered to the front, and the panel was then adhered to a light orange card base using foam tape.  To finish up, I embellished with yellow enamel dots.

RC Sneak Peek Day 3 - Let Your Light Shine

Hello! It's the final day of Reverse Confetti January sneak peeks, and today I'm sharing a card created using the new My Rock stamp set and Cross Confetti Cuts die.

To create my card, I started by first die cutting a piece of Cloud White cardstock using the Sunburst Cover Panel Confetti Cuts, then adhering it to a white card base which had been topped with a piece of yellow patterned paper.  I then ran a piece of scrap Stone cardstock through my Big Shot centered behind the circle in the Sunburst die, then adhered the die cut to the card front.  Next, I die cut white and aqua cardstock using the Cross Confetti Cuts, layered the pieces together, then adhered them to the card front with foam tape.  

Next, I stamped one of the sentiments from My Rock in black ink onto Stone cardstock.  To finish up, the sentiment strip was adhered to the bottom of the card front, and then I embellished the center of the cross with black rhinestones.

RC Sneak Peek Day 2 - My Heart Trusts...

Hello! It's the second day of Reverse Confetti previews, and today we're showcasing cards/projects made with the new My Heart Trusts stamp set.  I *love* the sentiments in this set, and wanted to keep my card simple and let the sentiment act as the focal point.

To create my card, I started by die cutting a piece of light gray card stock using the Sunburst Cover Panel CC, then adhering it to the front of a yellow card base.  I then used the Detailed Circles Confetti Cuts on one of the new By the Sea QCPs.  

Next, I stamped one of the images from My Heart Trusts in Versamark ink, then heat set it with platinum embossing powder before adhering the die cut to the card front with foam tape.  To finish up, I embellished with silver enamel dots.

Let Your Faith Be Bigger Than Your Fear

Hello! It's the first of the month, which means it's time for another Reverse Confetti sketch (SFYTT)... I struggled a bit at first with the sketch, but if you substitute the scalloped circle in the center for the rectangle in the sketch, and use each cluster of leaves to represent the two squares on the sketch, it totally *works*. Lol! :)

To create my card, I started by first stamping one of the sentiments from God is Good in Versamark ink before heat setting it with gold powder.  I then used the Circles 'n Scallops Confetti Cuts on the sentiment panel and light blue CS, then adhered them together.  Next, I cut a piece of coral chevron patterned paper and adhered it to a kraft card base.

A strip of coral textured CS was then cut and adhered to the card front.  One set of the small and large leaves were die cut using the Leafy Confetti Cuts.  A flower from Petals 'n Posies was then stamped in coral ink before being die cut with the coordinating Petals 'n Posies Confetti Cuts.  The sentiment panel and flower were then adhered to the card front with foam tape.  To finish up, I adhered the leaves to the card front and then embellished with gold enamel dots.

Shine So Others See Him

Hello! I'm popping in to share a card I created using Color Burst watercolor powders and some of my favorites from Reverse Confetti.  

To create my card, I started by first cutting a piece of watercolor paper down to 4 x 5.25, then brushing it with some water.  I then sprinkled ultramarine blue, lemon yellow and pthalo green Color Burst powders onto the background.  I tried *so hard* to let them just do their thing, but I'm impatient so I hurried things along by tapping various areas with a wet watercolor brush. :P While the watercolor panel was drying, I die cut a bunch of leaves using the Leafy Confetti Cuts on white CS.  

I then stamped one of the flowers from Petals 'n Posies in light gray ink, and a center in teal ink, then cut them out using the Petals 'n Posies Confetti Cuts.  Once the watercolor panel was dry, I stamped one of the sentiments from God is Good in Versamark ink before heat setting it with white powder.  The panel was then adhered to an aqua card base using foam tape.  To finish up, I fiddled with the arrangement of the leaves and flowers, then secured them to the card front using liquid adhesive and foam tape.

Countdown to Confetti: Faith Can Move Mountains

Hello! It's the final day of previews for this month's Reverse Confetti release, and today we're featuring The Lord's Strength, which is full of encouraging sentiments! ♥ To create my card, I started by cutting 3/4" off a standard A2 white card base, then adhering one of the Hoppin Dots Quick Card Panels over the edge using foam tape.  

I then used the new Pretty Panels: Bold Line on white and yellow CS, and adhered them to a base I created using the rectangle from the Class Act Confetti Cuts die set.  I then stamped one of the sentiments from The Lord's Strength in Versamark ink before heat setting with gold embossing powder.

Next, I adhered the sentiment panel to the card front using foam tape.  I then used the flower clusters from the Flower Wrap Confetti Cuts on white CS, and adhered the die cuts to the yellow patterned layer.  To finish up, I embellished with gold enamel dots.  This card came together so quickly, but I really like how it turned out. :)

Sending Hugs & Prayers

Hello! I'm participating in a blog hop today to spread some love and support for my friend and fellow crafter, Ann Cox.  Her husband recently went to the hospital to undergo some tests, and ended up having triple bypass surgery.  Thankfully that went well and he's now in the process of recovering from his surgery, though there will be other potential procedures down the road.  Very heavy stuff to be dealing with when you're so young! My thoughts and prayers are with you guys every day! ♥♥♥

RC Blog Hop - Trust in the Lord

Hello! It's the 8th of the month, which means it's Reverse Confetti blog hop time, and today I'm sharing one of the cards I created using the new Walk By Faith stamp set and Double Scallop Garland Confetti Cuts.

To create my card, I started by adding some stripes to a piece of watercolor paper using watered down Distress Inks.  I then stamped one of the sentiments from Walk By Faith in Versamark ink, then heat embossed it with white powder onto gray CS.  Once the stripes were dry, I then used the largest circle from the Circles 'n Scallops Confetti Cuts to die cut a circle from the panel.  

The gray CS was adhered to a white card base, then the watercolored layer was adhered to the card front with pop dots.  Next, I die cut three banners using the Double Scallop Garland Confetti Cuts, then adhered them to the card front.  To finish up, I embellished with clear sequins.

Let Your Faith Be Bigger Than Your Fear

Hello! I'm popping in to share a pretty watercolor resist card I created using one of my favorite sentiment sents from Reverse Confetti, as well as probably my all-time favorite peacock feather image!

To create my card, I started by stamping the sentiment from God is Good in versamark ink onto white CS, then heat embossing with white powder.  I then went back and added in some peacock feathers from Peacock Pretties to frame the sentiment.  They were also stamped with versamark ink, then heat embossed with white powder.

Next, I used diluted Distress Inks (Mustard Seed, Peacock Feathers, and Cracked Pistachio) to add color to the background.  I'm super impatient and couldn't wait for the layer to dry, so I gave it a quick zap with my heat gun, then pressed it between two acrylic blocks to try to smooth it out some.  Once the image was fully dry, I adhered the layer to a medium gray card base with pop dots.  To finish up, I embellished with yellow enamel dots.
