2S4Y35 - Joy

I was asked if I wanted to participate in a local holiday craft fair that one of the nearby schools are going to be holding... I'm not 100% sure if I will be getting a booth, but I am *really* thinking about it! It's funny, just yesterday I was trying to come up with some ideas on ways to make some extra money while my husband is out on short-term disability with his broken ankle, I mean helloooo the 15th is just around the corner, and a girl needs her PTI stamps! *wink* LOL How crazy is it that I would then get an email the very. next. day. about a possible income opportunity?!

Do you lovely ladies have any tips on setting up a table to make it look purrrty and more likely to catch customer's eyes?

This is the card I created for last week's 2 Sketches 4 You sketch. I was a day late and a dollar short on getting this one photographed and uploaded in time... :( I made a card for Dawn's last color challenge and didn't have it ready to go until FIFTEEN minutes after the deadline! *pouts* Oh well, it serves me right and it's a lesson learned! Organization is key. :)

Have a great one!

Supplies:
Stamps - Take a Bough, Polka Dot Basics 2
Paper - Smokey Shadow, Whisper White
Ink - Stazon Black, Versamark, Spring Moss, Hibiscus Burst, Summer Sunrise
Miscellaneous - Green Grosgrain Ribbon, Orange Rhinestones, Aqua Rhinestones, Corner Punch

  1. Well, glad you can still share the cards with us anyway -challenge or not! :) This is super cute! Love the rhinestones you added there!

Sorry no tips for tables! I've done it twice and it's just not for me, but I used magazines to create levels and height on the table. You can also use other items you have around your house.

  2. LOVE this card! LOVE. IT. The dark grey background is just perfect. :-) I have been late w/challenges before too... but I'm so glad you still shared with us. :-)

Tables... I would make sure to do like Ash said and create different height levels. Sometimes a nice solid table cover will provide a great backdrop. I can be any color really, as long as it's solid so that it doesn't distract from the fabulous cards you'll be selling. :-) The inventory and keeping up w/sales is a lot of work, so plan ahead how you'll keep track of orders, sales, etc. AT the end of the day, you'll want to know what sold well, and what didn't (so the next time you can prepare more effectively.) Also, (and I know you don't need me to tell you this...) SMILE!!! Every booth/table needs a bright smile to draw people in. :-) Not that your work won't already be doing that... ;-)

  5. Heather, what a lovely card. What an exciting opportunity for you to share your talent with others because you really have the knack for this craft. I agree with the girls about setting different height levels. I did craft fairs for a few years and each venue is different but one thing is sure - a fetching table that is organized and not crowded. Good luck! I'm sure you'll have loads of fun and bring in lots of dough!
