Palette O' Prints Swap

This is one of the card fronts I made for a SUDSOL Palette O' Prints swap that I'm participating in. I've never joined a swap before, so I hope my work is up to "demo" quality... I'm really looking forward to receiving the other 11 card fronts from the other participants... :)

Details:

Paper - So Saffron, Whisper White, Palette O' Prints

Stamps - Bodacious Bouquet, Warm Words

Ink - Basic Black, Rose Red, Certainly Celery

Sleeping Beauty

Lindsay passed out, fast asleep at grandma's house. I just love this girl! :) She is sweet and sassy, and I wouldn't have her any other way! LOL, I'll try to remember I said that when I want to pull my hair out during one of her mega meltdowns. :)

You know what's funny? She is a stubborn little girl, just like her mommy. She used to say mama... It was even her first word! Now, I'm just that nameless lady that harrasses her to brush her hair, brush her teeth, take a bath, eat, pick up messes and tells her to not color on the walls. You ask her to say daddy? She happily complies... You ask her to say mama? She looks at you blankly. Little booger!

Bag Tags

This is a quick and easy tag that I created for our ladies retreat. My friend Tonya needed 12 tags for some goodies she's putting together for each attendee.

Details:

Paper- So Saffron, Basic Grey Scarlett's Letter line

Stamps- Stampendous (flower)

Ink- Basic Black

Miscellaneous- Stickles & white stitched ribbon

Busy RAK-ing

Here are some of the RAK's I've been busy with lately... Notice how they all have the same flower stamp from Stampendous on them! LOL, first it was the Doodle This flower and now the Stampendous flower... Apparently I'm obsessive! :)

They're all tri-fold cards... Beate Johns has a wonderful tutorial here. I started out with the 3 1/2" cards, and then later changed the measurements to make them 4" cards. To do this, you would cut your cardstock to be 4" x 12", and score on the 4" and 8" points.

Details:

Paper- So Saffron, Bazzill CS (blue, aqua & pink), My Mind's Eye, Basic Grey (Stella Ruby & Phoebe lines)

Stamps- Stampendous flower

Ink- Basic Black

Miscellaneous- Sheer polka dot ribbon (brown, maroon, black), polka dot grosgrain, Crystal Ice Stickles

Delight in Life

Here's a card I made using SU!'s Delight In Life set. I used pop dots to give the flowers a little dimension, but I didn't capture that very well in my photo. This card was inspired by the beautiful card created by Kendra Giles, which can be found here.

Okay, I'm on a roll here... I was finally able to get all of the posts I had saved as drafts put up on the web. Whoohoo!

Easter Sunday

Here are a couple of pictures of Lindsay on Easter... Her dress was a little on the big side, so maybe she'll be able to wear it next year!

We went over to Jason's uncle's house and had a great time. We ended up getting there a little on the late side, but luckily there were still people there, so we were able to catch up some.

Lindsay had a fun time running around the house playing with the plants and picking the jelly beans off of the cupcakes. LOL I don't know how many times I had to go get her from the kitchen because she had been grabbing the beans (and consiquently the FROSTING) off of the cupcakes Debbie made.

The biggest "near miss" disaster involved two things... Lindsay and cool whip. There was an open container of cool whip sitting on the dessert table, and she proceeded to pick it up and head out of the kitchen. Luckily, Jason's grandma was there shouting "get her, get her!" LOL Never a dull moment!

Easter Egg Hunt - Success

Here are some pictures of Lindsay from Saturday's Easter Egg Hunt. It ended up snowing on Saturday (only 1 - 2 "... So much for Spring?!), but thankfully the snow melted before the beginning of the hunt. It was pretty chilly (40-ish degrees), but on the good side at least we didn't have a chocolately mess inside the eggs! :)

There were approximately 185 kids that came out for the hunt, which is a wonderful turnout considering the weather! What a blessing for us to get to reach out to over 300 people in our community. :) We ended up bringing everything inside (except for the actual egg hunt), and people seemed appreciative. We had bubbles, balloon animals, bag decorating, temporary tattoos and a couple of fun crafts for the kids while they were waiting to go outside and gather eggs.

Our little monkey got a tattoo of a pink monkey on her cheek. :) She cried a little while they were putting it on, but the tears dried up instantly once the paper towel was removed... She's so funny.

I also have a picture of Lindsay and her daddy outside in the cold... What good sports! Lindsay also won one of the prize drawings for the 2-4 year olds... That was a suprise! It was a little weird taking her up to the stage to pick up a prize that Jen & I had shopped for, but she seems to love it.

The Easter Egg Hunt was a lot of work, but it was definitely worth it!! :)

Another Thank You Card

This is one of the Thank You cards I made recently. I had some scraps leftover from my Easter cards, so I thought I'd try to put them to good use. What I'd really like to do is make a bunch of cards in advance so I won't need to scramble when I need a card ASAP... I just need to find time! Seems to be a recurring theme for me, eh? :)

I don't use my aquapainter all that often, so I figured I would color in the Doodle This flower instead of stamping it on cardstock and cutting it out. Didn't turn out too bad. :P

Details:

Cardstock: Tempting Turquoise and Whisper White
Stamps: Doodle This (flower), Karen Foster Snap Stamps Casual (sentiment)
Ink: Taken with Teal, Regal Rose, So Saffron, Staz-On Jet Black
Miscellaneous: Black gel pen (doodling), black stitched ribbon

Time Flies

It's been a week since my last post... Time flies, eh? As promised, here is a pic of Jason in the Bow the Knee performance. He did a great job and you couldn't even tell he was nervous! :)

Outside in the Backyard

Here's a photo of Lindsay I snapped the other day while we were playing outside. The weather was so beautiful, it's hard to believe we've gone from the 70's to the 40's in a matter of days. Isn't she cute? :)

Random Ramblings

Where has this week gone? I don't know about you, but I've just been exhausted! Lots has been going on this week in preparation for Easter. Jason is making his "big debut" tonight in our local Church's Bow the Knee Easter play. It should be a lot of fun! He's soooooo nervous, it's totally adorable. :) I couldn't ever get up on stage in front of a group of people, so I definitely give him credit for making the leap!

Tonight, I'll be working in the nursery, so I'll miss the first performance, but I'll be in there on Sunday with my camera in tow! Stay tuned for pics!! :) After the play tonight, we'll be setting up for the Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday. It's supposed to be pretty cold tomorrow, so we're not sure what sort of turn out we're going to have. Hopefully it'll still be a big success!

Rocky Run Park

Here are a few pictures of Lindsay. We went to Rocky Run Park this afternoon with Tonya and Jen and their kids, and had a blast!

We had never been to there before, and it was really nice. They had an area for bigger kids as well as a toned down toddler-sized playground. That was such a relief since we didn't have to worry about our little ones getting pummeled by the bigger kids.

Lindsay hit the ground running as soon as I let her hand go... She thought it was hysterical running away from mommy. I don't even know if she realized the playground equipment was there at first, she was having too much fun playing "keep away from mommy." I'm hoping at some point she'll actually listen to me when I tell her to come back! I'm watching all the other 2-ish year olds and when they're told to stop and come back, THEY ACTUALLY DO!! What a concept! LOL, this girl is a wild one!!!

Lindsay spent most of the time playing on the little walkway, well, once I got her to stop running away from me anyway. :) The walkway had small holes in it so you could see the ground, and she thought it was fastenating. :) I just love watching her little brain at work...

Treat Bags

These are the treat bags we made as "thank you's" for the volunteers who are helping with the Easter Egg Hunt this upcoming Saturday. My friends Jen and Sheri came over and we had a great time putting them together! Sheri wanted to test the theory that there are "no mistakes" when it comes to stamping, and had a little issue with a stamp pad (who knew those lids would "fall off" like that?? LOL), but they both did a beautiful job. :) Aren't they the cutest bag toppers?
