Stampers' Showcase

In the words of one of my daughter's favorite cartoon characters (Quincy from Little Einsteins)... I cannot believe it!

One of the cards I submitted was selected to be on the Stampers' Showcase. This is just too much fun! :) The original post was way back here.

Thank you SO much to Vera on SCS for letting me know!!!

Always on my mind

I should be sleeping, but alas, here I am! :) I've got to be one of ~the~ slowest card makers out there! LOL

I started with a standard 4 1/4 x 5 1/2" card base of Chocolate Chip, then cut 3 2 x 5" strips of Soft Sky CS. I used my slit punch on the three strips and cut them to fit the card. Once they were the correct size, I positioned them and adhered them to the card base.

Next, I cut a 3 1/2 x 4 3/4" piece of Whisper White CS and stamped the Pretty Petals background image in Chocolate Chip. Once that was dry, I adhered it to the card base.

Then I stamped the flower from Pretty Amazing three times in Soft Sky, and the bird in Chocolate Chip ink onto Berry Bliss DS paper. I then cut out the different layers of the flower, and adhered each one with a pop-dot in between. I used my paper piercer to poke a hole in the middle for my Pretties Kit Rhinestone Brad. I then cut out the bird and attached it to the flower.

To finish things up, I adhered a 1 1/2 x 5 1/2" piece of Soft Sky CS to the card base, and added a piece of Chocolate Satin Ribbon. I then attached the flower and bird to the card base. The sentiment was stamped in Chocolate Chip ink and layered onto Soft Sky and Chocolate Chip CS ovals... Should've come together pretty quickly, but I'm slooooooow. :)

Enjoy your Sunday!

One of a kind

This was a super easy and quick card to put together... I started with a standard card base in Whisper White, then stamped the top half of the card with the largest and smallest flowers from the One of a kind stamp set in Purely Pomegranate and Pretty In Pink inks.

I then cut a strip of Berry Bliss DS brown paper (2 1/4 x 4 1/4") and a strip of Pretty In Pink (1 x 4 1/4"). I adhered the Pretty In Pink strip to the Berry Bliss DS paper, then attached a ribbon to the front of the layer before adding it to the card base.

To finish it off, I stamped my sentiment in Pretty In Pink and Chocolate Chip inks onto Whisper White CS, then punched it out with the Small Oval Punch. I layered it with a Purely Pomegranate piece of CS and used the Large Oval Punch before adhering it to the card with pop dots.

Details:
Stamps - One of a kind
Ink - Purely Pomegranate, Pretty In Pink, Chocolate Chip
Paper - Whisper White, Pretty In Pink, Berry Bliss DS, Purely Pomegranate
Miscellaneous - Small & Large Oval Punches, Chocolate Satin Ribbon

A quickie...

I started with a standard card base of 4 1/4 x 5 1/2" in Soft Sky, then cut out the two other strips of paper (Groovy Guava - 1 3/4 x 5 1/2", Bali Breeze DS 1 1/2 x 5 1/2").

Next, I stamped the flower from Embrace Life, and colored it in using Groovy Guava and Purely Pomegranate inks. While the flower was drying, I used my Coluzzle to cut out the Basic Gray mat (4th ring), and layered it with another circle (3rd ring) that had been stamped with the tree branch/leaves from the set in Wild Wasabi. I then used my corner rounder to scallop the edge of the Basic Gray layer. Once the flower was dry, I added Dazzling Diamonds to the center.

I then took a piece of Purely Pomegranate ribbon and pulled the white threads so that it would have a gathered look, and then attached it to the strips of paper before adhering the layers to the card base.

Once the layers were attached to the card base, I stamped my sentiment in Basic Gray. To finish off the card, I adhered the scalloped circle to the card, and added the flower with a dimensional.

Details:
Stamps - Embrace Life
Ink - Wild wasabi, Basic Gray, Purely Pomegranate, Stazon Black, Groovy Guava
Paper - Soft Sky, Groovy Guava, Whisper White, Basic Gray, Bali Breeze DS
Miscellaneous - Small Corner Rounder, Dazzling Diamonds, Purely Pomegranate Double-Stitched Ribbon

A little late...

This is what we finally ended up sending out for our Christmas cards... I had such great ideas, but unfortunately, none of them turned out as planned. LOL, that happens a lot!!

At first I wanted to make my card case an acetate sheet and stamp the flourish in gold. By the time I finally got all of them stamped and dried, I didn't like the way the ribbon looked... Then I thought, oh well, I'll just stamp the flourishes in gold ink onto CS, but it wasn't opaque enough and I didn't like the way the embossed gold looked. So in the end, clear embossed flourishes were the way to go... LOL

Details:

Stamps - Holy Triptych, Baroque Motifs
Ink - Versamark, Basic Brown, Purely Pomegranate, So Saffron, Wild Wasabi, Black Stazon
Paper - Purely Pomegranate, Wild Wasabi, Chocolate Chip, WCP
Miscellaneous - Choolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon, Clear Embossing Powder, Ticket Corner Punch

I'm Ba-ack!

Wow, it feels like it's been forever since I last posted... A whole lot has happened in the past month, but I'm back!

I guess the biggest happenings are that I turned 30 on Christmas, I'm now a SAHM, and my husband's car unexpectedly died (whoohoo!), so I'm toting my toddler around in a minivan... LOL

I hope you all have been doing well! I'm kind of afraid to log in to my Google Reader... Hmmm, over 30 days without stopping by my daily blog fixes... LOL, I'm guessing there will be well over 1,000 posts waiting for me! :)

Anyhooooooo, I'm going to run for now, but I'm planning to get back on track within the next day or so!
