SC146 - Ever Grateful

This was created for the SC146 Sketch Challenge on SCS. I hadn't tried the cracked glass technique before, but it was a lot of fun, and really adds a nice touch.

I started with a standard card base of Blue Bayou CS, then stamped it with the floral background stamp in Blue Bayou ink.

Next, I stamped my image in Stazon Black ink onto watercolor paper, and then colored it in using Purely Pomegranate, Blue Bayou, Old Olive and Always Artichoke ink.

While I was waiting for my image to dry, I cut out all of the other layers: Blue Bayou 2 3/8 x 4 3/8", Purely Pomegranate 2 1/2 x 4 1/2", Old Olive DS 3 x 4 1/4", Blue Bayou 3 1/8 x 4 1/4" and Purely Pomegranate 3 1/4 x 4 1/4".

I adhered the different layers together, then added the Very Vanilla Ribbon to the Old Olive DS layer before attaching it to the card base. Once my image was dry, I inked it up with Versamark ink, then sprinkled it with UTEE. I tapped off the excess, then heat set it. Once it cooled a littled, I repeated the process two more times to get a thick embossed layer over my image. As soon as the image was fully cool, I started bending it in different areas to get the cracks in the areas I wanted. I then attached it to the corresponding Blue Bayou and Purely Pomegranate layers, and adhered it to the card.

To finish it up, I stamped my sentiment in Always Artichoke ink on Very Vanilla CS, then used my small oval punch to punch it out. It was then layered on a piece of Blue Bayou CS punched out with the large oval punch.
