WSC36 - You Make My Life...

It feels like it's been forever since I've done one of Beate's awesome Weekend Sketch Challenges! No better time than the present to get back out there and start doing them. :) This card was created for Beate's WSC36 Challenge. You can find her original post here.

I started with a standard card base of Basic Gray, then cut out the main panel layers (Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Bali Breeze DS) and used the Ticket Corner Punch on the corners before adhering htem to the card base.

Next, I stamped my image onto Whisper White CS, and layered it onto Purely Pomegranate, Pumpkin Pie and Basic Gray CS's. I scalloped the edge of the Basic Gray CS before attaching the sentiment to the card base with pop dots.

I then used my Crop-a-dile to punch 6 holes onto the card front so I could add some Basic Gray Tafetta Ribbon to the card. To finish off the card, I layered three of the Accents & Elements Felt Flowers and held them together with a Build-a-Brad.

Friend Flower

I ordered the new Carousel Notes from the Occasions catalog because I thought they were just TOO cute, but then I just sat there staring at them tonight trying to figure out how I was going to use one... LOL

I stamped the large flower from Friendly Flowers in Basic Black ink onto Whisper White card stock, then cut it out before using my Crop-a-dile to punch out the small circles around the flower center. I then attached a piece of Wild Wasabi card stock to the back of the flower. I also used the Crop-a-dile to punch a small hole in a piece of Purely Pomegranate card stock, then used my Boho punch to pop out a small flower.

Next, I cut lines on each scallop edge along the Soft Sky Carousel Notes paper to make a huge flower, and then adhered the flower I stamped earlier.

I then took a piece of Wild Wasabi Double Stitched Ribbon and pulled out the white string before wrapping it around a round lollipop stick from a pack I picked up at Michaels. Once it was completely wrapped, I attached it to the back of the large flower, and used my large Oval punch to punch out two Wild Wasabi ovals that I turned into leaves. Once they were trimmed to size, I used my Black Stampin' Write Marker along the edges.

The black tin was a great find at Michaels... It was only $1! Originally it was a galvanized steel color, but I spray painted it black. :) I put some styrofoam into the tin, and then pushed my flower stem in to secure it. Next, I used my crimper on a piece of Groovy Guava card stock, and then cut them into small strips. Sticky strip was added to the top of the piece of styrofoam in the tin, and the crumpled up strips of Groovy Guava card stock were placed inside.

To finish things up, I added some small pieces of ribbon, and stamped/colored/layered the sentiment onto a piece of Wild Wasabi CS with a Soft Sky scalloped border.

Super Quickie Card...

This card is uber simple, but hey, I had 15 minutes to put it together and get out the door! :) LOL, I don't know about you, but I never seem to have enough time for pretty much anything...

To help save time, I used some of the scraps that I had left over from the tin I altered (go me!). Ahh, the joys of being a paper hoarder... ;)

Stamps - Big Birthday Candle
Ink - Regal Rose
Paper - Whisper White, Crate Papers "Samantha" Collection
Miscellaneous - Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon

Altered Tin

I decorated this tin for a friend of mine who's birthday is coming up this week and filled it with different sections for various categories of desserts, and included some recipe cards behind each tab...

The pink r and the green tag don't really look like they work with the papers on the tin, but they actually go together nicely IRL. Must be a goof on my part with my "post photo processing"... LOL :)

Stamps - None... LOL
Paper - Crate Papers "Samantha" Collection

Middle Name Tag

Amy tagged me... Whoohoo, I'm always a sucker for a game of tag! :) I've seen this one going around out in the blogosphere, but haven't been tagged before now...

The rules... Post facts about yourself using the letters in your middle name. Okkkkkkk... :)

I - Insomnia... That seems to really about sum it up for me lately. I have no clue what's going on, but I rarely make it to bed before 3am. Hmm, I haven't posted in almost a week, so what the heck am I doing up all night? Consulting work!

N - Neat and tidy, is NOT the name of the game on my desk. There are a few spots where I can see the wood, but for the most part it's just paper, paper, paper...

G - Goofy... Anyone who knows me knows I'm a total goofy geek, but that's okay! Right???? :)

L - Love me some 80's! 'Nuff said. LOL

I - I wish I had my pre-baby brain back... I thought they said "fog brain" was supposed to go away after they were born? My little girl is 2 1/2 now!!!

S - Scrapping or stamping? I don't know which one I like more!

H - Hoarder... Did I mention I like paper? :P

Yes, it's Inglish, and noooo, it's not a mispelling of the word ENGLISH. LOL

Who's up next??

In my mind....

This was going to be a little different, but in the end, I still think it's cute! :)

I started with a standard card base in Whisper White (4 1/4 x 5 1/2"), and then tied a piece of Olive grosgrain ribbon at the top. Next, I cut out the two strips of paper for the bottom of the card out of Bali Breeze DS paper, and used the small corner rounder on one of the pieces.

I adhered both pieces to the card base, and then stamped the bird images onto two scraps of paper. I cut out the birds, attached them to the card base and drew beaks and legs for the birdies.

I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of scrap paper, cut it out, and layered it onto a piece of Bali Breeze DS paper before adhering to the card base. To finish up, I drew the strings for the birds to hold on to, and cut out two small flowers for my sentiment panel.

Feeling uninspired...

I don't know what's happened lately, but I just can't seem to create anything... I finally get a chance to sit down and work on something tonight, and my mind went blank. LOL It's so much harder to get back into the groove than I thought it would be. Oh well, it'll work itself out at some point! :)

I'm going to skip the deets, I think it's pretty self-explanatory...
