WSC78 - Little One

I created this card for last Friday's Weekend Sketch Challenge using the Little Forest Friends set from My Cute Stamps. LOL, I sat there for a while staring at the sketch (my mojo is gone-o), but once I decided what stamp set I was going to use, everything else just kind of fell into place.

I started out with a standard A2 card base, and stamped the teensy mushroom image randomly with Versamark ink. Next, I stamped the owl and branch image with Memento Brown ink onto Whisper White CS, and once that was dried, I colored them in with Copics. To finish up, I cut a strip of Raspberry Fizz Bitty Dot paper, punched a scallop Kiwi Kiss border, added a yellow Hydrangea flower, and punched out and pierced the sentiment. Easy peasy! LOL, just what I needed today!

Have a great one! :)

Stamps - Little Forest Friends, Mega Mixed Messages

Ink - Versamark, Kiwi Kiss, Memento Brown, Copics
Paper - Kraft, Kiwi Kiss, Bitty Dots, Aqua Mist, Whisper White
Miscellaneous - Prima Hydrangea, Scallop Border Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch

Smile

This is just a super quick card that I made with one of the new sets I got with Papertrey's April release... There was a little bit of a learning curve when I was trying to make sure the colors stayed inside the lines, but I think I've just about got it down. LOL

Going anywhere fun this year on vacation? My husband and I haven't taken a vacation since we've been married, but we're going down to the Outer Banks for a week this summer before our daughter goes back to school. I think my vision took a bit of a beating with all the time I spent going from web site to web site trying to find the right house. LOL, I'm so glad that part is over!

Have a great one! :)

Stamps - Background Basics: Spots & Dots, Mega Mixed Messages
Paper - Raspberry Fizz, Smokey Shadow, Whisper White
Ink - Raspberry Fizz, Smokey Shadow, Lemon Tart

Mojo83 - Hello

It looks like I just hit 50,000 visits sometime in the last few days, so I guess it's time for blog candy! LOL, I don't know what's up for grabs yet, but I'll be back soon with something!

I created this card for last week's Mojo Monday Sketch. Do you ever have one of those days where you feel like you can't quite put your finger on it, but something about your card is a little off? LOL, that's how I feel about this one... It's sorta cute, but there's just something... wrong. :)

Have a great one! :)

Stamps - Floral Frenzy, Mega Mixed Messages
Paper - Aqua Mist, Hibiscus Burst, Whisper White, Kiwi Kiss, Bazzill Papaya CS
Ink - Hibiscus Burst, Stazon Black, Kiwi Kiss

CAS11 - Celebrate Today

Last week was quite a week for me! LOL, I went from being on no design teams to being on two in the span of a few days. :) I love the stamps over at
My Cute Stamps, Holly's style is so cool! I am just super excited that I was even asked to be a part of their team. :)

I created this card for Monday's Clean & Simple challenge on SCS. The challenge this week was to pick something from the kid's bedding/accessories department from JC Penneys and use it as your inspiration. I picked the bedding shown below as my inspiration piece:

Sooooo cute! :) I seem to be obsessed with hot pink and green, so this caught my eye right away.

Have a great one! :)

Stamps - Mega Mixed Messages, With Sympathy
Ink - Raspberry Fizz, Stazon Black
Paper - Raspberry Fizz, Whisper White, Basic Grey Urban Prairie
Miscellaneous - Stickles

TECC64 - Enjoy Life

I created this card using last Friday's super cute Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge sketch. I strayed a little from the sketch (no tails on my circle sentiment...), but otherwise stayed pretty true to the layout. :)

Have a great one!

WSC77 - Mom & Birthday Wishes

Happy Monday! :) LOL, I don't know what it is about rainy days, but they make me soooo sleepy...

I created this card using last Friday's Weekend Sketch Challenge sketch hosted by Lori Craig. Can I tell you how much I love sketch and color challenges? Well, I totally do! I think it's so neat that we can all be working from the sketch or set of colors, and yet, our creations are so completely different!

Stamps - Women of Life
Ink - Kiwi Kiss, Hibiscus Burst, Lemon Tart, Stazon Black
Paper - Hibiscus Burst, Whisper White, Black & White Basics
Miscellaneous - Stickles, Diamond Dust, Small Oval Punch, Large Oval Punch, Nestabilities Large Scallop Rectangles, Nestabilities Large Rectangles

This is the second card I made for the sketch challenge. I used the small flower center from the Women of Life set to create the polka dotted background... LOL, I think I need to break down and get the Polka Dot Basics set... :)

Have a great one! :)

WT214 - My Greatest Joy

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you're having an awesome day wherever you are! :) Temps for us are supposed to be around 70 (and no rain... woohoo!), so hopefully I'll get to spend some time outside with the fam today. :)

I created this super simple 5 x 7 page for Thursday's Ways to Use It challenge on SCS. The challenge was to create a card/project using a frame... So I thought it would be fun to place a frame within a frame. LOL

The frame around my daughter's photo was originally silver, but I didn't really like the color of it, so I tried coloring it with my lime Copic. LOL, I wasn't really thrilled with how that came out because the color wasn't intense enough, so I tried tapping my brown Stazon pad on top to add some extra color... LOL, long story longer, I ended up trying to rub that off, and then finally embossed the frame twice with UTEE. I actually liked the end result! Who would've thought?! :)

Have a great one! :)

Stamps - Technique Tuesday Loving Words

Ink - Stazon Brown, Versamark
Paper - Daisy Bucket Designs, Aqua Mist, Kraft, Whisper White

SC224 & FTD38 - Grateful for You

I created this card for Wednesday's Sketch Challenge over at SCS using this week's Color Throwdown colors (Basic Gray, Baja Breeze and Ruby Red). I tried a bunch of different combinations for the dots, but this was my favorite out of the bunch.

I used Guidelines 2 for the background lines, and then used the large and medium flower centers from Women of Life to create my dots. The heart is from the Heart Prints set and the sentiment is from the Friends 'Til the End set... LOL, 4 sets, 1 card. :)

Have a great one!

Stamps - Guidelines 2, Women of Life, Heart Prints, Friends 'Til the End

Ink - Baja Breeze, Ruby Red, Basic Gray
Paper - Whisper White, Basic Gray, Baja Breeze DSP
Miscellaneous - Red Grosgrain Ribbon

Big News, A Little Peak & WSC76

Back in February, I got a mysterious email from Jenn Balcer over at Splitcoaststampers asking if we could talk. LOL, my immediate reaction was that I must've done something wrong, maybe I had added something to the gallery that I shouldn't have, and I was in trouble (which is so silly because I probably would've just been pm'd by a gallery mod!). Well, much to my surprise, Jenn asked me if I wanted to be a member of the Dirty Dozen... My response? I *gasped*! LOL, I think my first words were something like "are you serious?"...

I mean, me? Really? Be on the Dirty Dozen? This must be a prank! LOL, the rest of our conversation is pretty much a blur, but two months later, here I am! I'd entertained the idea of maybe one day trying to get on a design team or two, but always hesitated because my skin isn't very thick! I never ever imagined that I would be a part of something so awesome. I still have a hard time believing it!

This month they're doing something a little different in the gallery... Each Dirty girl has chosen one specific project to give away to an SCS Fan Club member. The good news is all you have to do is leave a comment on that project to be randomly chosen! The bad news is you won't know which project it is, so go with your gut (or maybe your favorite project), and leave a comment or two or ten and it could be yours! :) You have two weeks to comment from the day the gallery is revealed before the winner is chosen.

Here's a little sneaky peek of one of the things I created this month for the April 2009 gallery...

FTL37 & TLC216 - hi

I created this card for Monday's Technique Lover's Challenge using the Fall-to Layout Sketch 37. The technique challenge this week was to use metal on your card/project. The butterfly in its prior form was a Cherry Coke Zero can. :) I used a pair of scissors to cut the can apart, and then ran the butterfly through the Cuttlebug to cut out the shape, and then again to emboss the dots.

Have a great one! :)

Stamps & Ink - None :)
Paper - Whisper White, Raspberry Fizz, SEI Bridgeport, Aqua Mist
Miscellaneous - Cuttlebug Cut & Die Butterflies, Soda Can, Black Marker, American Crafts Black Daquiri Thickers

FTL36 & CTD36 - Birthday Wishes

Dawn posted the top twelve In the Spotlight for her Week 3 color challenge, and would you believe it, my card (letter H in the photo above) was there?! LOL, I was SHOCKED! What a totally great surprise. :)

I created this card earlier this week using the Color Throwdown 36 colors (turquoise, pink, and orange) with the Fall-to Layout 36 sketch. Totally fun color combo and layout! LOL, if you haven't guessed already, I'm a sucker for challenges. :)

Have a great one! :)

TECC62

Happy Thursday everyone! :) Hope your week is flying by!

I created this card on Monday for the most recent Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge. I strayed from the sketch a little (using the leaves in place of the squares on the sketch), but overall am happy with how it turned out... LOL, I totally forgot to add my sentiment though, so I guess I'll just have to put it on the inside! :)

Have a great one!

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge 3 - Smile

You wouldn't guess by looking at the card, but I actually used my stamp-a-majig thingy today for the first time! LOL, the background pattern is still a little messy, but it's much better than if I had free-handed it! :)

I created this card using the Raspberry Suite Color Challenge Week 3 colors (Kraft, White, Berry, Pink and Red). Very fun combo!

My daughter is on Spring break this week, and I feel totally house-bound. Our van is getting service, so unless we're strapping on our shoes and walking somewhere, we're stuck at home. LOL, I know it's totally psychological because we don't have errands to run every day of the week, so there are plenty of times we just go to school and that's it. It's just knowing that the driveway is empty that makes you WANT to DRIVE somewhere... Anywhere! :P

Have a great one! :)

Easy peasy! :)

In the Spotlight & A Swap Card

Dawn McVey posted her "In the Spotlight" list for her Raspberry Suite Week 2 Color Challenge on her blog, and mine was one of the top 12! Can you believe that?! I'm super excited! There were so many absolutely fabulous entries, I really didn't think I had much chance... What a nice suprise! :)

This is the swap I made for the Great Swap Girls group that I'm a part of... We were doing a swap for the most recent Occasions Mini, and I picked the Very Versatile set. LOL, which oddly enough, I didn't think was all that versatile. :P Hopefully they liked it!

How is your Friday shaping up? My daughter started Spring Break today, so I got to sleep in a little more than usual! Whoot! Our weather is crazy today... First it was raining, hard, very hard (LOL, our backyard is mostly standing water), and now, the sun is trying to peek out of the clouds. I don't really mind rain, especially if I get to nap (LOL), but I hate all the worms that come out onto our driveway. Stepping on bugs of any sort totally grosses me out, let alone worms, so I'm sure my neighbors laugh watching me try to get from point a to b outside!

Have a great one! :)

Stamps - Very Versatile

Ink - Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze

Paper - Baja Breeze, Whisper White, Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze DSP
Miscellaneous - Chocolate Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, Large Oval Punch, Pop Dots

I created this card for last Friday's Weekend Sketch Challenge using Wednesday's SCS Color Challenge (Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red & Chocolate Chip). Charmaine's sketch was super cute! :) I went over to her blog today to grab the link for the Weekend Sketch Challenge, and came across this amazingly adorable Easter bunny treat. How awesome is that?! :)

Have a great one! :)

CAS08 - Celebrate Today

Happy Lost day!

I created this card for Monday's Clean & Simple Challenge over at SCS, which was to create a card based off of the provided sketch. LOL, this may be my fastest card EVER! Whoohoo! I stamped the damask image strip twice in Raspberry Fizz ink onto the card base, then stamped and punched out my sentiment, layered it onto textured cardstock and voila, done! :)

Random thought, but isn't it funny how your kids may ignore you the ENTIRE day, but the second you're on the phone, they're glued to you, clamoring for your attention? LOL

Have a great one! :)

Stamps - Damask Designs, Mega Mixed Messages

Ink - Raspberry Fizz, Basic Black
Paper - Whisper White, Bazzill CS
Miscellaneous - 2" Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch
