Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #21

Hi everyone, hope you're having a great Wednesday! :) I was able to get together with my friend Jen this morning and go for a walk, so today is off to a great start! If only I had the motivation to go for one every day, now that'd be somethin'! :) I really struggle with keeping my motivation for exercise, or drinking water, or eating less processed food, etc. I know that these things are important, but sometimes I just. can't. do. it. You'd think that with family histories of some gnarly stuff, I'd really want to do whatever I can to avoid them, but alas, I still struggle. *sigh* If you live a healthy-ish lifestyle, how do you it? What keeps you going day to day?

Okay, okay, I'll stop rambling... On to today's card! :)

Today's card was created for the Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #21: Aqua, Lemon, Chocolate, and Cream. Such pretty, happy colors that you could really use for just about any occasion or time of year. I chose to focus my card more on spring and how it makes me feel... Happy! :) I'm not a huge fan of summer because I tend to run on the hot side anyway year-round (LOL, flip flops anyone?), and when you couple that with my body's resistance to sweating, I pass out when I get too hot. LOL, definitely embarrassing! So, spring time is the bestest! :)

Instructions:
  • Cut cream CS to 6" x 7", score at 3 1 /2" and fold in half to create a 3 1/2" x 6" card base.
  • Stamp sentiment in brown ink.
  • Stamp background pattern with versamark ink and heat set with clear embossing powder.
  • Stamp brown polka dots onto aqua CS, then punch scalloped edge.
  • Stamp diamond background on yellow CS, and adhere to aqua CS.
  • Add ribbon to aqua/yellow CS, then attach to card base.
  • Stamp leaf image onto aqua CS, cut out, and attach to card base.
  • Embellish with rhinestones.

Stamps - Background Basics: Retro, Background Basics: Diamonds, Polka Dot Basics 2, Signature Greetings, Turning a New Leaf
Ink - Versamark, Aqua Mist, Dark Chocolate, Lemon Tart

This card was created for the most recent Raspberry Suite Color Challenge... Feels like forever since I was able to play last, and I have SO missed it!! :)

I think everything is pretty self-explanatory, the only thing I wanted to point out is that the background on the vintage cream cs was embossed with clear embossing powder.

Sorry for the short post today, tonight is the deadline for CARDS submissions, and I haven't gotten a chance to start yet. Eeek!

Have a great one! :)

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge 18

102809b, originally uploaded by inglishrea.

Hi everyone! This is my second post today... :) I managed to miss the last challenge Dawn posted, so I wanted to make *SURE* I got in on this one! :)

This little 4 1/4" square card was created using the colors for the Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #18: cream, chocolate, kraft, raspberry & green. LOL, I went a wee bit crazy with the pearls, but I really liked the grid pattern they formed. :) At first, I was just going to stamp the raspberry image... then I went back and added the smaller cream image... then back again to add the green outer image... then back yet again for the pearls... LOL, Giga is addictive!

Have a great one! :)

Supplies:
Stamps - Giga Guide Lines, Guide Lines
Ink - Raspberry Fizz, Vintage Cream, New Leaf
Paper - Vintage Cream, Dark Chocolate, Kraft
Miscellaneous - Pearls, New Leaf Grosgrain Ribbon, Fiskars Upper Crest Punch

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge 16

Happy Saturday! It's hard to believe that it's already Labor Day weekend and that Fall is just around the corner. I haven't even started Christmas shopping yet, guess I better get busy! :)

I created this card for the most recent Raspberry Suite Color Challenge: kraft, cream, chocolate and orange-gold. I don't usually post on Saturdays, but I wanted to make sure I got this uploaded since I missed out last time (on vacation). :)

Have a great weekend!

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge - 14

I'm totally psyched! I managed to squeeze in some time to get this challenge in AND I have time to spare. Wooot! No last minute rush here (this time anyway... LOL)!

The colors for the Raspberry Suite Color Challenge 14 are: Purple, Cream, Bright Pink & Deep Red. I wasn't sure I was going to be able to come up with anything interesting, but I think this is kinda cute! Dawn is amazing, and could totally make a brown and black card look fabulous. She's just.that.good! I love her color combos... :)

Have a great one!

Stamps - In Bloom, Vintage Picnic Basket Sentiments, Polka Dot Basics 2
Ink - Vintage Cream, Versamark
Paper - Plum Pudding, Vintage Cream, Raspberry Fizz, Scarlet Jewell In Bloom, Raspberry Fizz Bitty Box

SC238 & Raspberry Suite Color Challenge 12

This is the card I created for yesterday's Sketch Challenge on SCS. I think my birds look a little like aliens, but otherwise, it's all good. :)

Ink - Summer Sunrise, Stazon Black, Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay
Paper - Summer Sunrise, Raspberry Fizz, Bermuda Bay, Whisper White
Miscellaneous - Hot Pink Rhinestones, Marvy Square Punch, Fiskars Scallop Punch

I created this card for the most recent Raspberry Suite Color Challenge 12: dark red, bright pink, cream and moss green. I just *barely* squeaked it in under the wire... I didn't have any dark red (LOL, how that's possible I don't know!) so I was waiting on the UPS guy, and then my camera tried to thwart my attempt to take a picture with a dead battery! LOL

Stamps - Polka Dot Basics 2, In Bloom
Ink - Versamark, Raspberry Fizz
Paper - Vintage Cream, Spring Moss, Raspberry Fizz, Scarlet Jewel In Bloom
Miscellaneous - Fiskars Scallop Punch, Hot Pink Rhinestone

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge - Week 11

Happy Tuesday! :)

This is the card I created for the Raspberry Suite Color Challenge - Week 11. It's hard to believe that there have already been 11 challenges! Wow! Where does the time go?!

The colors for this challenge were black, leaf green, bright pink, bright red and light gray. It's a little hard to tell in the photo, but base layer is Raspberry Fizz, the scalloped layer is Soft Stone, and the layer right on top of that is Pure Poppy. It was starting to get dark outside when I snapped this photo and I've had the hardest time trying to get the colors to look correct! LOL, I'll probably just attempt to re-take the photo when there's more light! :)

Have a great one!

Stamps - Sweet Pea (Flourishes), Vintage Picnic Basket Sentiments (PTI)
Paper - Raspberry Fizz, Soft Stone, Pure Poppy, Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink - Memento Black, Copics
Accessories - New Leaf Satin Ribbon, Large Oval Punch, Nestabilities Scalloped Rectangles

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge - Week 10

When I saw the colors posted for the most recent Raspberry Suite Color Challenge (cream, berry, melon & dark brown), Ruby Red Grapefruit popped into my head. So much so that when I was trying to figure out what I wanted to create, I couldn't come up with anything else. :P LOL, so sad! Does that ever happen to you? Do you become obsessed with images and ideas to the point where you can't create anything other than what you've imagined in your mind? LOL, that seems to happen to me a lot lately. I'll get some random idea in my head, and then one of two things happens... Either I figure out a way to create what I'm imagining and am psyched because it worked, OR (the more likely of the two), I'm disappointed because I can't figure out a way to get what's in my head to work IRL. LOL, I might need therapy. *wink*

Have a great one!

Stamps - Vintage Picnic Basket Sentiments, Fruitful

Ink - Melon Berry, Berry Sorbet, Stazon Brown
Paper - Groovy Guava Carousel Notes, Brown Bitty Box, Vintage Cream, Berry Sorbet, Dark Chocolate
Miscellaneous - Pearls, Scallop Square Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, 1" Circle Punch, Berry Sorbet Grosgrain Ribbon, Stickles

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge - Week 9

Today's our official first day of summer vacation... LOL, too bad for my daughter it only lasts two weeks because she'll be heading off to summer school on the 30th! Poor kiddo! :)

This is the card I created for the most recent Raspberry Suite Color Challenge: leafy green, black and cream. Not my usual colors, but a very fun combo! This little card measures 4" round, so it would be great as a little notecard. I cut out two flowers with my Slice using the Noteworthy cartridge, and then used my Cricut to cut out the 3" New Leaf circle. The Vintage Cream circle was punched out with my Marvy Mega Circle Punch, and then stamped with the flourish before before stamping the Versamark dots (and heat embossing).

I stamped the sentiment around the edge of the New Leaf circle, and then added some clear rhinestones. To finish up, I assembled everything and added a bow, flower and button.

Have a great one!

Stamps - Polka Dot Basics, Mega Mixed Messages, Fancy Flourishes

Ink - New Leaf, Versamark, Basic Black
Paper - Basic Black, Vintage Cream, New Leaf
Miscellaneous - Clear Rhinestones, New Leaf Satin Ribbon, Prima, Button, Clear Embossing Powder, Slice Noteworthy Cartridge, Cricut Mini Monograms Cartridge, Marvy Giga Circle Punch

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge - Week 8

I created this card for the most recent Raspberry Suite Color Challenge, and it seems like once again I managed to barely squeak in under the deadline. LOL, maybe one of these days I'll be a little more organized... :)

Have a great one!

Stamps - Background Basics: Retro, Fancy Flourishes, Mega Mixed Messages
Ink - Vintage Cream, Chocolate Chip
Paper - Raspberry Fizz, Vintage Cream, Kraft
Miscellaneous - Slice Animal Crackers, Raspberry Fizz Button

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge - Week 7

I created this card for this week's Raspberry Suite Color Challenge. The colors for the Week 7 challenge were Raspberry, Artichoke and Celery/Moss (and white if needed)... LOL, and I needed! My mojo always takes a HUGE nose dive after the fan club gallery opens on the 15th... LOL, it's kinda like a mini hibernation period before I gear up to start working on the next month's items. Suuuuuure it is! :P

I started with a standard A2 card base of Raspberry Fizz, which was stamped in Fresh Snow with the 2nd largest polka dot from Polka Dot Basics. Next, I scalloped a piece of Whisper White CS and attached it to the card base. I used one of the Nestabilities Labels Four dies to cut out a piece of white CS that I adhered to the card, then added the grosgrain ribbon and sentiment. The adorable elephant is from the Animal Crackers set from My Cute Stamps. That elephant has the sweetest little expression, I just love how happy he is! I made a little boo-boo and accidentally cut off his tail while I was trimming the image, so I just drew a replacement on with one of my pens. Shh, don't tell! ;) To finish up, I added a little sprig of leaves.

Have a great one! :)

Stamps - Animal Crackers (My Cute Stamps), Mega Mixed Messages & Polka Dot Basics (PTI)

Ink - Fresh Snow, Stazon Black, Ripe Avocado, Raspberry Fizz
Paper - Raspberry Fizz, Whisper White, Spring Moss, Ripe Avocado
Miscellaneous - Spring Moss Grosgrain Ribbon, Little Leaves Sizzlit, Nestabilities Labels Four, 1" Circle Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge - Week 6

I barely squeaked this card for the most recent Raspberry Suite Color Challenge under the wire yesterday! :) This week's colors were brown, light aqua, coral pink and white... So fun! LOL, I know, I say that every time, but it's true... Dawn has such a way with color and picks the most awesome combos! :)

This card came together pretty quickly. I started with a 5 1/4" square card base of acetate, then ran it through the Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots embossing folder. I use the largest Nestabilities Large Scalloped Rectangles die to create the Berry Sorbet scalloped square, then cut out the Dark Chocolate, Aqua Mist and Whisper White layers to size. I stamped the two flower images from Friends 'Til the End in Versamark ink, then heat embossed with white embossing powder. To finish up, I added some ribbon, stamped and punched the sentiment, and then added some clear rhinestones.

Have a great one!

Stamps - Friends 'Til the End, Mega Mixed Messages

Ink - Versamark, Stazon Brown
Paper - Acetate, Dark Chocolate, Berry Sorbet, Whisper White, Aqua Mist
Miscellaneous - White Embossing Powder, Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing Folder, Clear Rhinestones, Berry Sorbet Grosgrain Ribbon, Nestabilities Large Scalloped Rectangles, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, 2" Circle Punch

Spotlight Week 5 & A birthday!

I can't believe it! My card made it into the Spotlight this week! LOL, I was scanning through the top picks, and didn't even notice my card until I got down to the individual names! Heather P? Oh my word, that's ME! *insert flabbergasted face*

The Raspberry Suite challenges are one of my "must-do" challenges! Dawn has a serious eye for color and her combinations are always rockin'.

Isn't this the cutest?! My mom sent this adorable little cupcake bouquet to my daughter (My "baby" turned 4 yesterday!). It's crazy to think that another year has gone by. It truly seems like yesterday I was looking at her sweet face for the first time! Isn't it funny how time seems to stand still when you're young, but as you get older, it absolutely FLIES by?! Sometimes I wish I could press the pause button...

Here's Lindsay getting ready to take a huge bite of cheesecake... I wanted to get a couple of pictures of her on her birthday, but she didn't want to smile, she just wanted me to take shots of her eating. LOL

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge - Get Well Soon

Well, it's that time again! Time for another awesome set of colors for the most recent Raspberry Suite Color Challenge. :)

To create this card, I started with a standard A2 card base, and then cut out and layered Smokey Shadow, Whisper White and Raspberry Fizz Bitty Dot paper. I stamped the teapot image in Versamark ink onto the Bitty Dot paper, then heat embossed it with white embossing powder. To finish up, I used a corner rounder to create a scallop edge, stamped the sentiment repeatedly, added teeny tiny clear rhinestones, added some Hibiscus Burst grosgrain ribbon and used the flourish from the PTI Mother set to create some "steam" for the teapot.

Have a great one! :)

Stamps - Tea for Two, Mother

Ink - Versamark, Smokey Shadow
Paper - Whisper White, Smokey Shadow, Raspberry Fizz Bitty Dots, Hibiscus Burst
Miscellaneous - Clear Rhinestones, White Embossing Powder, Hibiscus Burst Grosgrain Ribbon, Corner Rounder

Week 4 Spotlight & CC217

I can't believe it! My card (A above) was picked as part of the In the Spotlight round-up for the Raspberry Suite Week 4 Color Challenge... *insert shocked face!*

This is the card that I made for the Raspberry Suite Week 4 Color Challenge (brown, white, and aqua). It didn't really turn out how I invisioned it in my head, but it seems that happens all too often. LOL :)

The polka dots were stamped with Versamark ink, and embossed twice with White Embossing Powder to give them good coverage and really make them pop.

Stamps - Polka Dot Basics, Friends 'Til the End

Ink - Versamark, Stazon Brown, Aqua Mist
Paper - Whisper White, Aqua Mist, Dark Chocolate
Miscellaneous - White Embossing Powder, Nestabilities Scallop Rectangle, Brown Satin Ribbon

----------------------------------------------

I created this card for yesterday's
Color Challenge on SCS... LOL, I didn't have any Ballet Blue or Garden Green paper, so I just tried the best I could to tie those colors in (green grosgrain ribbon & blue rhinestone brads).

Have a great one! :)

Stamps - Because of You
Ink - Memento Black, Copics
Paper - Whisper White, Basic Black
Miscellaneous - Blue Rhinestones, Green Grosgrain Ribbon

FTL36 & CTD36 - Birthday Wishes

Dawn posted the top twelve In the Spotlight for her Week 3 color challenge, and would you believe it, my card (letter H in the photo above) was there?! LOL, I was SHOCKED! What a totally great surprise. :)

I created this card earlier this week using the Color Throwdown 36 colors (turquoise, pink, and orange) with the Fall-to Layout 36 sketch. Totally fun color combo and layout! LOL, if you haven't guessed already, I'm a sucker for challenges. :)

Have a great one! :)

Stamps - A Muse Open Zinnia, Solid Zinnea, Mini Flower, PTI Mega Mixed Messages

Ink - Cool Carribbean, Pumpkin Pie, Pretty in Pink
Paper - Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie, Sweet Always DSP
Miscellaneous - Aqua Satin Ribbon

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge 3 - Smile

You wouldn't guess by looking at the card, but I actually used my stamp-a-majig thingy today for the first time! LOL, the background pattern is still a little messy, but it's much better than if I had free-handed it! :)

I created this card using the Raspberry Suite Color Challenge Week 3 colors (Kraft, White, Berry, Pink and Red). Very fun combo!

My daughter is on Spring break this week, and I feel totally house-bound. Our van is getting service, so unless we're strapping on our shoes and walking somewhere, we're stuck at home. LOL, I know it's totally psychological because we don't have errands to run every day of the week, so there are plenty of times we just go to school and that's it. It's just knowing that the driveway is empty that makes you WANT to DRIVE somewhere... Anywhere! :P

Have a great one! :)

Stamps - Good Friend, Mega Mixed Messages
Ink - Berry Sorbet, Riding Hood Red
Paper - Kraft, Whisper White
Miscellaneous - Corner Rounder, Sweet Blush Grosgrain Ribbon, Prima Coral Reef Hydrangeas, Brown Button

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge 2 - Thanks

Happy Monday! :) LOL, that's an oxymoron right? I mean, happy and Monday together? Psha! :P

I created this card for the Raspberry Suite Color Challenge 2 over on Dawn McVey's blog. Once again, she picked a totally fun and fabulous color combo!

This card is pretty self-explanatory, so I won't bore you with the details... (LOL, no thanks necessary.) :) The only thing really worth mentioning is that the damask images were embossed with clear embossing powder, but you can't really see that in the photo. It's somewhat sunny here today, so you'd think I would've been able to get a better shot with my camera. Ah well, better luck next time I suppose!

Have a great one! :)

Certainly Celery - 4 1/4" Square
Chocolate Chip - 4 1/4" Square

CAS07 - Embrace Happiness

I created this card for this week's Clean & Simple Challenge on SCS. This week our challenge was to use punches... LOL, so punches it was! I think this was the fastest card I've ever made... Well, once I stopped trying to decide if I wanted raspberry butterflies on a lemon circle or lemon butterflies on a raspberry circle. Back and forth and back and forth. :P The color combo I used was for the Raspberry Suite Week 1 Color Challenge over on Dawn McVey's blog. Her color combos are always totally fun and fresh. Love 'em!

Have a great one!

Stamps - Mega Mixed Messages

Ink - Summer Sunrise
Paper - Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Raspberry Fizz, Lemon Tart
Miscellaneous - 1 3/8" Circle Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch
