C4C217 - Thanks a Bunch

Happy Saturday! :) I've joined the ladies over at the Crazy 4 Challenges blog, and will be posting along with them each week.  Today's challenge is an inspiration challenge using the photo below, whether it's the colors, theme, accents, you name it:

I was really drawn to use of kraft with a touch of black, so that's what I based the focal point of my card on.  I love, love, love the Bloomin' Aussies stamp set from Flourishes Stamps, and thought it would be perfect for this card as a silhouette image!

To create my card, I started with a kraft card base, then masked one of the images from the Bloomin' Aussies stamp set on the card front.  Next, I outlined the images with a gray Copic, then stamped the sentiment on a strip of white cardstock in red ink.  To finish up, I stamped some additional sentiments in Versamark ink onto a piece of navy cardstock, then adhered it to the card front.

Want to play along with us this week? All you have to do is create a card/project using the photo above as inspiration, then link your creation to the C4C217 blog post.

Have a great one!

Supplies:
Stamps - Bloomin' Aussies (Flourishes), Sentiments (Hero Arts)
Paper - Kraft, Enchanted Evening, Stamper's Select White (PTI)
Ink - Versamark, Memento (Tsukineko); Pure Poppy (PTI)
Miscellaneous - Copics

Happy Happy Birthday!

Yay for Friday! :) I'm popping in to share a card I created for the current Wednesday Simon Says Stamp challenge, Going Dotty.

I'm so glad the weekend is finally here, it'll be nice to get to spend some extra time with my kiddo! I was hoping to take her to a local farm and pick some pumpkins, but we've been having some unseasonably high temps in the area (85-ish during the day, though we normally hover around 65-70 at this time of year).  Maybe I'm just weird, but it really doesn't feel like fall when you're in t-shirts and shorts. Haha

To create my card, I first stamped the floral image onto the white card base.  Next, I heat embossed the chevron strip onto yellow cardstock, and trimmed it before adhering it to the card front.  Once that was done, I used a banner die on green cardstock and heat embossed the happy birthday sentiment in white.  To finish up, I adhered the banner and die cut happy to the card front, and embellished with enamel dots.

Have a great one!

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge - Week 11

Happy Tuesday! :)

This is the card I created for the Raspberry Suite Color Challenge - Week 11. It's hard to believe that there have already been 11 challenges! Wow! Where does the time go?!

The colors for this challenge were black, leaf green, bright pink, bright red and light gray. It's a little hard to tell in the photo, but base layer is Raspberry Fizz, the scalloped layer is Soft Stone, and the layer right on top of that is Pure Poppy. It was starting to get dark outside when I snapped this photo and I've had the hardest time trying to get the colors to look correct! LOL, I'll probably just attempt to re-take the photo when there's more light! :)

Have a great one!

Stamps - Sweet Pea (Flourishes), Vintage Picnic Basket Sentiments (PTI)
Paper - Raspberry Fizz, Soft Stone, Pure Poppy, Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink - Memento Black, Copics
Accessories - New Leaf Satin Ribbon, Large Oval Punch, Nestabilities Scalloped Rectangles

TECC72 - Miss You

Happy Friday!! Anyone doing anything fun over Father's Day weekend? On Saturday morning I'm off to a baby shower, and then later in the afternoon we'll be going to my husband's cousin's 1st birthday party. LOL, I always get a kick out of the fact that my 34 year old husband has a cousin 33 years younger than him! That just seems crazy to me! :) On Sunday, we'll be off to church in the morning, and then heading down to VA to meet up with my parents and brother for lunch at Texas de Brazil. Yum!

This is the card I made for last Friday's Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge. I strayed a little (I didn't use three objects along the panel where I used ribbon), but overall tried to stay true to the sketch. At first, I *really* didn't like how it was coming together, but I just kept plugging and plugging and finally, success! LOL

Have a great weekend!
