C4C266 - Happy Birthday

Hello! I'm popping in to share a card I created for the current Crazy 4 Challenges C4C266 challenge, which is to create a winter themed birthday card.  I loved the sketch over on the CASE this Sketch blog this week, so I'm using that as my starting point! :)

To create my card, I started with a piece of white CS, which I stamped with the large, solid chevron from the V for cheVron set from Winnie & Walter.  I used a mix of distress inks (which was tapped directly on the stamp then spritzed with water), and pigment silver ink to create my color combo.  While the stamped CS was drying, I stamped the sentiment from Winter Woodland in versamark ink, then heat embossed with white powder.  

Once the chevrons had dried, I stamped every other strip with the snowflake image from the Big, the Bold and Seasons in versamark, then heat embossed with white powder.  I angled the CS on the card base, then used my paper trimmer to cut it down to size.  The layer was then secured to the card front with pop dots.  To finish up, I adhered the sentiment to the card front and embellished with green enamel dots.

C4C255 - Hello Gorgeous

Hello! :) I'm popping in to share a card I created for the current Crazy 4 Challenges C4C255 challenge, which is to create a card featuring leaves.

To create my card, I started by trimming a piece of leaf patterned paper, and stamping it with the word Gorgeous from Clearly Whimsy Stamps' Happy Hello set, then heat embossing with platinum powder.  I then die cut the Hello using the Hello Large Word DIe from cream CS.  Next, I created a snake braid using Whisker Graphics' Solid Teal Divine Twine, and secured it to the patterned paper.

I then adhered the patterned paper to the card base using pop dots before attaching the hello sentiment to the card front.  To finish up, I embellished with turquoise gems and covered the word die cut with stickles.

C4C253 - Read. Learn. Grow.

Hello! :) I'm popping in to share a card I created for the current Crazy 4 Challenges C4C253 challenge, which is to create a card with a school theme.  I think I sorta kinda stuck with the theme?? Loosely?? :)To create my card, I started with a light pink card base, and stamped the zigzag border strip from Whimsy Stamps' Basic Backgrounds & Borders set in versamark before heat embossing with white powder.  Next, I die cut a heart from white CS, and a scallop heart from gray CS.  I then repeat stamped the read. learn. grow. sentiment in light gray ink before adhering the two hearts together.

I used the Glasses and Bracket die set to cut out a pair of glasses from light pink CS, then covered them with glossy accents.  The Smarty Pants sentiment was stamped in fuchsia ink, then the heart die cuts were attached to the card base with pop dots.  Once the glasses were dry, they were adhered to the hearts with pop dots, then fuchsia enamel dots were added to the card base.

C4C250 - Life is a Balancing Act

Hello! I'm popping in to share a card I created for the most recent Crazy 4 Challenges C4C250 challenge, which is to create a card featuring animals, but they can't include bears or bunnies! :) 

To create my card,  I started by first stamping the teeter totter image from Avocado Arts' You Can Do It set onto watercolor paper with Stazon gray ink.  I then watercolored the image, and set it aside to dry.  Next, I die cut two pieces of red card stock with a scallop circle die to create a mini-card base.  I also die cut mint and white card stock layers, and adhered them together.  

Once the image was dry, I fussy cut it out, and determined the general placement.  Using watercolor pencils, I created a small shadow on the white card stock circle layer.  The sentiment was then stamped in versamark, and heat embossed with white powder.  To finish up, I adhered the sentiment and image with pop dots, then embellished with clear gems.

C4C249 - Hope You Perk Up Soon

Hello! It's the third Saturday of the month, which means it's sketch time over at the Crazy 4 Challenges blog.

To create my card, I started with a piece of green CS, and layered it on top of a piece of white CS.  I then wrapped some Teal Divine Twine around the top of the panels, securing with a bow, then adhered them to the medium gray card front.  I then cut a piece of light gray CS, and stamped the sentiment from Whimsy Stamps' Coffee Break Additions set in Versamark before heat embossing with white powder.  

I then stamped the coffee pot in light gray ink onto white CS, then trimmed it out.  I die cut a circle from white CS, and stamped the dashed/solid circle from Feeling Fruity in teal ink.  I adhered the circle to the light gray CS layer, then attached the coffee pot with pop dots.  To finish up, I embellished with some small clear gems.

C4C247 - Love You to the Core

Hello! It's Saturday, which means it's time for another Crazy 4 Challenges challenge.  This week, we were tasked with creating projects using banners/bunting.  

To create my tag, I started with a piece of gray CS, which I cut into a tag shape using the Tag Me Too die, and the coordinating reinforcer from white CS.  I then stamped one of the sentiments from Whimsy Stamps' Feeling Fruity Additions set in versamark onto yellow CS before heat embossing with white powder.  I trimmed the end into a banner shape, then adhered it to the tag.  Next, I stamped the apple, core and stem, and cut them out before adhering them to the tag with a pop dot.

I then stamped three hearts from the In the Garden Additions stamp set, cut them out, then adhered them to a piece of gray twine before attaching them to the tag with pop dots.  To finish up, I added a piece of hot pink satin ribbon to the tag, and finished it off with a gray twine bow.

Sitting here typing up my post and looking at the photo, it just dawned on me that I forgot to add the clear gems I set aside.  Lol, whoops! :)

C4C239 - Hello

Hello! ;) It's Saturday, which means it's time for another Crazy 4 Challenges challenge.  This week, we were tasked with creating a masculine card.  Masculine cards are hard for me on any given day, but throw in reeling from the sudden and unexpected loss of one of our pets, and my mojo was nowhere to be found.  I thought about sitting out this week (and almost did!), but in the end, I'm glad I pushed through.  It was nice to have a 30 minute distraction from my obsessive thoughts about Tigerlily. :(

Anyhoooo, onto my card... To create my card, I pulled out two of my favorite go-to designs from Whimsy Stamps, Happy Hello (stars) and the Hello Word Die.  I love the font they used for the hello, and find myself reaching for it again and again.  

I tapped some navy mist from a paintbrush onto the gray card base, then gave it a quick blast from a heat gun to dry the ink.  Next, I die cut 5 hellos (4 from white CS, and 1 from patterned paper), then glued them together with Tombo liquid adhesive.  While those were drying, I stamped a cluster of stars from Happy Hello in Versamark, then heat embossed them with white powder.  To finish up, I adhered the sentiment to the card front and embellished with teal enamel dots.  And that folks is the closest I come to creating masculine cards. Lol...

C4C237 - Smile

Hello! I'm playing along with the Crazy 4 Challenges C4C237 color challenge this week, using the colors orange, turquoise and kraft.  

To create my card, I started by cutting a piece of kraft CS, and stamped it with the camera image from Whimsy Stamps' Happy Travels stamp set in Versamark ink.  Next, I layered the kraft CS onto a piece of orange CS, then wrapped it with jute twine.  

I then stamped the sentiment in Versamark, and heat embossed it with white powder.  I trimmed the edges of the sentiment into a banner shape, then adhered it to the card front with pop dots.  To finish up, I embellished with white enamel dots.

C4C236 - Hello

Hello! I'm playing along with the Crazy 4 Challenges C4C236 sketch posted yesterday using one of my favorite Whimsy Stamps word dies.

To create my card, I started with a mint card base, then adhered a strip of gray polka dot patterned paper before adding a strip of yellow CS.  Next, I die cut three hellos from Whimsy Stamps' Hello Word die (2 light gray, 1 dark gray), and set them aside.  

I then die cut a large circle using a Nestabilities die, then adhered it to the card front using pop dots.  Each hello was then secured to the die cut circle with Tombow glue adhesive.  To finish up, I embellished with red pop dots and some of my favorite silver metallic twine from Whisker Graphics.

C4C235 - Hello

Hello! It's Saturday, which means it's time for another Crazy 4 Challenges challenge.  This week, we're playing bingo, and the object of the game is to create a card using three in a row (horizontal, vertical or diagonal).  For my card, I chose the top row:  Embossing, Stripes and Text.  Now, it would've been helpful to actually *read* the description of what qualifies as text in the post before I made my card, buuuuuuut, I didn't. :P

To create my card, I started with a gray card base, and repeat stamped the strip of arrows from Whimsy Stamps' Happy Hello with Versamark ink to create my stripes.  The arrows were covered with white embossing powder, then heat set.  Next, I die cut 5 Hellos (1 mint, 4 white), then adhered them together.  Once that was done, I stamped the card front with stars, then heat embossed them with mustard embossing powder.  To finish up, I adhered the sentiment to the card front, covered it with stickles, then added black enamel dots the center of the outline stars.

C4C234 - Hello Gorgeous

Hello! It's Saturday, which means it's Crazy 4 Challenges time.  This week, the challenge is to create a card/project that includes flowers.  

To create my card, I started with a gray card base (I'm addicted to SSS's new gray CS, such a great color!), and stamped the sunflower image from Whimsy Stamps' In the Garden Additions set in versamark before heat embossing with white powder.  Next, I cut a piece of white CS, and adhered a strip of pink chevron patterned paper.  I then adhered the white CS to the gray card base.

I then die cut the Hello sentiment 4 times (three white, one pink), and glued them together.  I stamped the sentiment from Happy Hello in gray ink before adhering the hello die cuts to the card front.  To finish up, I embellished with some pink Divine Twine and clear gems.

C4C233 - Hi There

Hello! It's Saturday, which means it's time for another Crazy 4 Challenges challenge.  This week, the theme is April Flowers Bring May Showers, so we're tasked with creating cards that feature both flowers and rain (images or sentiments).

To create my card, I started with by trimming a piece of rainbow rain patterned paper to fit a standard A2 card base, and adhered it with tombo.  Next, I cut a piece of vellum to fit the card front, then stamped it with a doodle flower image from Impress Rubber Stamps in Versamark ink before heat embossing it with white powder.  Once it was heat set, I added small droplets of adhesive around the card front, then secured the vellum.  I then stamped the Simon Says Stamp sentiment in gray ink onto a piece of mint CS, and adhered it to the card front with pop dots.  To finish up, I embellished with some yellow enamel dots.

C4C232 - Sweet Birthday Wishes

Hello! I hope your holiday weekend is off to a great start.  If all goes according to plan, I should be sleeping soundly in Michigan when this post goes live. :) Thankfully, we don't live too far, it's only about a 10 hour trip, but going up on a Friday morning and heading back home on Sunday evening, makes for a tired ME. :)

It's the 3rd Saturday of the month, which means it's sketch time over at Crazy 4 Challenges.  To create my card, I started with a pink card base, and added some striped patterned paper to the front.  Next, I die cut a heart using a Nestabilities die, then adhered it to the card front with pop dots.  

I then stamped the banner and birthday wishes sentiment from Sweet as Candy onto mint CS, then heat embossed with white powder before trimming it out.  Next up, I die cut the sweet sentiment, and adhered it to the banner with Tombo glue.  To finish up, I adhered the sentiment to the card front with pop dots, and embellished with clear gems.

C4C229 - Sending You...

Hello! It's Saturday, which means it's time for this week's Crazy 4 Challenges challenge.  To create my card, I started with a piece of aqua patterned paper, and wrapped it with a couple pieces of jute twine before adhering it to a gray card base.  Next, I die cut a flower stem from glitter CS and adhered it to the front of a Whisker Graphics Yellow Chevron Little Bitty Bag.  Once the glue dried, I cut off the end to make it flush with the bag, and attached the bag to the card front with pop dots.

Next, I stamped a white tag with the circle image from Whimsy Stamps' Feeling Fruity set with light gray ink. I then die cut another flower stem, and adhere it to the tag before stamping the sentiment from the Sweet as Candy stamp set.  To finish up, I inserted the tag into the pocket, tied a bow on the twine, and embellished with dark aqua enamel dots.

C4C228 - Thank You Cherry Much

Hello! It's Saturday, which means it's time for another Crazy 4 Challenges challenge.  This week is a free-for-all, so the only challenge is to create something... Anything! :) 

For my project today, I wanted to make something cheerful and fun, so I grabbed some of my Whimsy Stamps goodies.  

To create the tag, I die cut the base using PTI's Tag Sale #2 die, and added some fun yellow twine from Whisker Graphics.  I then stamped the sentiment from Feeling Fruity onto a strip of yellow patterned paper in gray ink, then trimmed the ends to give them a banner shape.  I then die cut the cherries from the Fruit Trio dies, and adhered them to the tag base with pop dots.  To finish up, I adhered the sentiment and embellished with white enamel dots.

C4C227 - To the Moon and Back

Hello! I hope your weekend is off to a great start! :) It's Saturday, which means it's time for another Crazy 4 Challenges challenge.  This week, the challenge is to create a card/project using the provided sketch as inspiration + the color green.  

To create my card, I started with a pink card base, and adhered a piece of scribble circles patterned paper to the card front.  Next, I stamped the heart image onto white CS with pink ink, then punched it out with a 2" circle punch before adhering it to the card front with pop dots.  I then stamped the sentiment in versamark ink and heat embossed it with white powder.  Once that was done, I trimmed the edge of the green CS to give it a banner shape, then attached it to the card front with pop dots.  To finish up, I embellished the card with yellow ribbon.

C4C226 - You Are a True Friend

Happy Saturday! :) It's time for another Crazy 4 Challenges challenge.  This week, the the challenge is to create a card/project where the sentiment is the star of the show. 

To create my card, I started by cutting three strips of mint card stock and adhering them to a yellow card base.  Next, I die cut a large circle from gray patterned paper, then heat embossed the sentiment with white powder.  To finish up, I attached the die cut with pop dots, then embellished with orange enamel dots. Fast and fun!
