Retro Sketches #130 - Happy Birthday

Hello! I'm popping in to share a card I created for the current Retro Sketches #130 challenge... Whew, this was a toughie! I really liked how it turned out, though, so it was worth all the stress over where to place all the little banner bits. :)

To create my card, I started by first cutting a bunch of 3/4" strips of coordinating card stock, then cutting the ends into a banner shape.  I fiddled with the arrangement of the banners for an hour a while, then adhered them to the kraft woodgrain card front once I was certain of their placement. I then added a strip of polka dot paper along the left edge, and added some jute twine.

I stamped the happy birthday sentiment from Reverse Confetti's Beautiful Banners set, and heat embossed it with white powder.  The peacock feather from Peacock Pretties was stamped in turquoise ink, then fussy cut.  The two circle elements were stamped with a grayish-brown and yellow-orange inks, then punched out with a 1" circle punch.  To finish up, I adhered the two circles and peacock feather with pop dots, then embellished with black enamel dots.

Have a great one! :)
