Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge # 8

Pretty Princess RAK

Zoofari RAK

This is one of the RAK's that I've sent out in the last couple of weeks...
I started with a 3 1/2" x 10 1/2" strip of Blue Bayou cardstock, and scored it at 3 1/2" and 7". Beate Johns has a great tutorial on triange trifold cards, which you can find here. I just LOVE triangle fold cards... They're great chameleon cards... All you need to do is change the patterned paper and the stamped image, and you can tailor it to suit any occasion! It can be anything from fun to formal! :)
Details:
Stamps - Zoofari
Paper - Blue Bayou, Soft Sky, Whisper White, Basic Grey Phoebe
Ink - Blue Bayou, River Rock, Black Stazon
Miscellaneous - Green Stitched Ribbon

Hazy Days of Summer
The summer weather in the DC area is never fun, more so because of the stickiness. I'd take Vegas heat over our most humid days any time! I'm probably alone in that feeling, though. My husband always says "dry heat? humid heat? it's still heat!" :P LOL
take advantage of the time by pulling some weeds. They grow so fast... Wouldn't it be nice if the flowers we planted in our yard were as hardy???? :) We're in a little bit of a drought here, so they've placed restrictions on water use, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my plants will make it. Anyone have great tips on gardening?? 6.25.2007

Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge # 6

Here is the card I created for Beate's weekend sketch challenge # 6. The original post can be found here.
I don't have a Coluzzle, so I used this circle thingy (yes, that's what it's called! lol) that I found in the house.
At first the edge of the card was just Whisper White, but I felt like it was missing something. I'm not sure if I'm really happy with my "fix" or not, but here it is! :) I think if I were going to use this color combo again, I'd probably switch the Soft Sky and Whisper White.
Details:
Paper - Soft Sky, Purely Pomegranate, Whisper White
Stamps - Baroque Motifs
Ink - Soft Sky, Purely Pomegranate
Miscellaneous - Corner Rounder, Piercing Tool

Busted!

It's really hard to see in in the picture, but there is GREEN crayon on my daughter's bedroom door. LOL, I should be happy, it could've been worse... MUCH worse!
Lindsay was playing with her crayons, and normally I make her sit down at the table while coloring... I thought I'd try giving her a little more freedom with the crayons (probably because I was absorbed surfing SCS! LOL). Next thing I know, I'm like, hmmmm, she's being really quiet. Unusually quiet!! So, I get up and walk over to where she's standing and she bursts out into tears before I even say so much as hi. I look a little closer, and there it is, in all its glory... crayon on her door. I couldn't help but laugh! :)
Details:
Paper - 3 Bugs in a Rug Tickled Pink line
Miscellaneous - Shimmer Black Chipboard Letters, Heidi Swapp White Flower, Imaginesce Green & Pink Flowers, Making Memories Blue Bling Brad

Beate's Weekend Sketch # 5 Challenge

This is the card I made for Beate's weekend sketch challenge. I love the gate fold card and will definitely be using it again in the future! The challenge can be found here on Beate's blog.
Ok... So I've come to a realization... Watercoloring is HARD! :) LOL, I never thought it was easy, but seriously, should it be so hard to color two flowers??? I need some serious practice. :) How do you keep the colors from bleeding into another area (i.e. the petal colors going into the center of the flowers)?
Details:
Paper - Groovy Guava, River Rock, Soft Sky, Shimmer White, Birdie by Crate Papers
Stamps - SU! Because of You
Ink - Wild Wasabi, Purely Pomegranate, Groovy Guava, Soft Sky, StazOn Black
Miscellaneous - Sheer blue polka dot ribbon, Stickles, White gel pen
