Ok... This is what I came up with for the Sketch This Cards #18 challenge... I'm not sure how I feel about it yet, but it's being posted anyway! :) LOL

Ink - Wild Wasabi
Miscellaneous - Green Rhinestone Brad, Khaki Polka Dot Ribbon, Prima Sprites

Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge # 8

Here is the card I made for Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge # 8. LOL, I know, it doesn't seem like I create anything without sketch challenges... :P I just think they're great... Especially when you don't have a lot of time to play. Beate's original post can be found here.

I started with a 5" square card in Wild Wasabi, then cut out two strips of paper. The DCWV patterned paper was cut to 2 1/2" x 5", and the Groovy Guava strip was 3" x 5". I used my corner rounder to scallop the edges of the Groovy Guava, and then used my piercing tool to poke holes across both sides of the strip. I cut out my two circles using my Coluzzle, and attached them to the back of the strip. Then I stamped my sentiment on Soft Sky using Karen Foster Snap Stamps in 1/4 and 1/8 sizes and adhered it to the strip.

The flower image was stamped 4 separate times, and each image was cut out separately (i.e. the center of the flower, the Soft Sky petals, the Guava petals, and then the whole image). I watercolored the flowers and assembled them with mini pop dots.

Details:

Paper - Wild Wasabi, Soft Sky, Groovy Guava, Whisper White, DCWV Floral Pack

Stamps - Lizzie Anne Designs Jolies Fleurs, Karen Foster Snap Stamps Casual 1/4 & 1/8

Ink - Stazon Black, Purely Pomegranate, Groovy Guava, Soft Sky, River Rock

Pretty Princess RAK

Aren't these cute? I know the Pretty Princess stamp set is retiring, but I just thought she was too cute and would be great for making RAK's for little girls.
Details:
Stamps - Pretty Princess
Paper - Pixie Pink, Whisper White, Basic Grey Phoebe
Ink - Black Stazon
Miscellaneous - Sheer Green Polka Dot Ribbon, Watercolor Pencils, Stickles

Zoofari RAK

This is one of the RAK's that I've sent out in the last couple of weeks...

I started with a 3 1/2" x 10 1/2" strip of Blue Bayou cardstock, and scored it at 3 1/2" and 7". Beate Johns has a great tutorial on triange trifold cards, which you can find here. I just LOVE triangle fold cards... They're great chameleon cards... All you need to do is change the patterned paper and the stamped image, and you can tailor it to suit any occasion! It can be anything from fun to formal! :)

Details:

Stamps - Zoofari

Paper - Blue Bayou, Soft Sky, Whisper White, Basic Grey Phoebe

Ink - Blue Bayou, River Rock, Black Stazon

Miscellaneous - Green Stitched Ribbon

Hazy Days of Summer

Here are some photos of my 2 year old enjoying the weather outside... Isn't she a cutie? LOL, I ~might~ be a little biased, but she is cute! ;)

She absolutely LOVES to be outdoors, regardless of how hot it is. Luckily for me, it wasn't too bad outside temperature wise... The humidity? Well, that's another story! :)

The summer weather in the DC area is never fun, more so because of the stickiness. I'd take Vegas heat over our most humid days any time! I'm probably alone in that feeling, though. My husband always says "dry heat? humid heat? it's still heat!" :P LOL

Lindsay played in the backyard for about an hour so I tried to
take advantage of the time by pulling some weeds. They grow so fast... Wouldn't it be nice if the flowers we planted in our yard were as hardy???? :) We're in a little bit of a drought here, so they've placed restrictions on water use, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my plants will make it. Anyone have great tips on gardening??

Sketch This Cards Challenge # 16

This card was created for the Sketch This Cards Challenge #16. You can find their original post here.

Cambria Turnbow created a gorgeous card for this sketch, which can be found here on her blog. I wasn't intending to CASE, but after looking at her card I noticed we both used Pick a Petal and Petals DS paper. :)

Details:

Stamps - Pick a Petal, Petals & Paisleys

Paper - Cool Caribbean, Petals DS, Shimmer White

Miscellaneous - Ice Rhinestone brad, So Saffron ink, Regal Rose ink

Cheeeeese...

I scanned the layout, and the colors ended up a little more washed out then they are IRL. This is a layout of Lindsay (like I really do anything else...LOL) at her grandma's house. She was running up and down the hallways, and I just thought she was SO cute. Yes, I'm biased. :)

Originally I stamped "say" with black ink and thought it was just too harsh, so I had to find a way to cover it up. I'm not sure I'm really happy with the way it turned out, but since I didn't use the mono to adhere the new "say" I can always remove it. :)

Details:

Stamps - Pick a Petal, Doodle Alphabet, Petals & Paisleys

Paper - Petals DS, Bazzill Green Scallop CS, Whisper White, So Saffron

Miscellaneous - Black Stazon ink, Gellies - aqua, aquadot, pink dot, Scenic Route pink chipboard letters

Sketch This Cards Challenge #15

Okay, okay, this card is just a litttttle late, but here it is! :) The Sketch This Cards blog has weekly challenges where they provide the sketch, and you provide the finished product. This is what I came up with using sketch #15. The original post can be found here. Their work is awesome... You should check it out!

This card was made with a 4 1/4" square cardstock base. The Baroque Motifs swirl was stamped in Groovy Guava onto a 4" x 3 3/4" piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. The little flower in the Baroque Motifs set was then stamped in Really Rust. I cut out the larger flower image, and then adhered it to a strip of Groovy Guava cardstock measuring 1" x 4 1/4" and attached a green rhinestone bling.

Details:

Stamps - Baroque Motifs

Paper - Groovy Guava, Very Vanilla

Ink - Groovy Guava, Really Rust

Miscellaneous - Green rhinestone bling

Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge # 6

Here is the card I created for Beate's weekend sketch challenge # 6. The original post can be found here.

I don't have a Coluzzle, so I used this circle thingy (yes, that's what it's called! lol) that I found in the house.

At first the edge of the card was just Whisper White, but I felt like it was missing something. I'm not sure if I'm really happy with my "fix" or not, but here it is! :) I think if I were going to use this color combo again, I'd probably switch the Soft Sky and Whisper White.

Details:

Paper - Soft Sky, Purely Pomegranate, Whisper White

Stamps - Baroque Motifs

Ink - Soft Sky, Purely Pomegranate

Miscellaneous - Corner Rounder, Piercing Tool

Easter Layout

Here's a quick scrapbook page I put together of one of my favorite pictures from Easter. And yes, she's picking her nose! My now 2 year old can't seem to keep her fingers away from her face. Ugh! I'm sure it's just a phase and it'll pass, it's just embarassing when we're talking to people and oops, there it goes! LOL
Details:
Paper - Basic Grey Phoebe line
Miscellaneous - Scenic Route Pink Chipboard Letters, Green Velvet Ric Rac, Heidi Swapp Pink Flower, Bazzill White Flowers, Primas, Foo-fa-la Buttons

Busted!

It's really hard to see in in the picture, but there is GREEN crayon on my daughter's bedroom door. LOL, I should be happy, it could've been worse... MUCH worse!

Lindsay was playing with her crayons, and normally I make her sit down at the table while coloring... I thought I'd try giving her a little more freedom with the crayons (probably because I was absorbed surfing SCS! LOL). Next thing I know, I'm like, hmmmm, she's being really quiet. Unusually quiet!! So, I get up and walk over to where she's standing and she bursts out into tears before I even say so much as hi. I look a little closer, and there it is, in all its glory... crayon on her door. I couldn't help but laugh! :)

Details:

Paper - 3 Bugs in a Rug Tickled Pink line

Miscellaneous - Shimmer Black Chipboard Letters, Heidi Swapp White Flower, Imaginesce Green & Pink Flowers, Making Memories Blue Bling Brad

Beate's Weekend Sketch # 5 Challenge

This is the card I made for Beate's weekend sketch challenge. I love the gate fold card and will definitely be using it again in the future! The challenge can be found here on Beate's blog.

Ok... So I've come to a realization... Watercoloring is HARD! :) LOL, I never thought it was easy, but seriously, should it be so hard to color two flowers??? I need some serious practice. :) How do you keep the colors from bleeding into another area (i.e. the petal colors going into the center of the flowers)?

Details:

Paper - Groovy Guava, River Rock, Soft Sky, Shimmer White, Birdie by Crate Papers

Stamps - SU! Because of You

Ink - Wild Wasabi, Purely Pomegranate, Groovy Guava, Soft Sky, StazOn Black

Miscellaneous - Sheer blue polka dot ribbon, Stickles, White gel pen
