WT220 - Welcome Little Sprout

I created this card for Thursday's Ways to Use It Challenge... Buttons! LOL, yes, I know, less is more most of the time, but I couldn't help myself! :) This fun, whimsical tree from Unity was just screaming "button treetop please" every time I looked at it! Am I crazy because trees talk to me? LOL, maybe so!

I wanted to keep the layout pretty simple because I didn't want to draw away too much attention from my mound of buttons, so this fit the bill. To create the tree, I stamped the image twice, once onto Sweet Blush CS and again onto white CS. I colored in the tree trunk with Copics, and paper pieced it onto the Sweet Blush tree before adding the buttons.

Have a great weekend!

Stamps - Little Sprout (Unity)
Ink - Stazon Brown, Memento Brown, Copics

SC230 - New Home

Happy Thursday everyone! Hope it's awesome wherever you are...

I created this card for yesterday's SCS Sketch Challenge, and boy, was it a doozy! LOL, I didn't think I was gonna be able to participate this week... I'm all for a challenge, but when I saw all the different squares and elements on the sketch, I'll admit it, I was a little skeered. LOL

Have a great one!

Ink - Stazon Brown, Memento Brown, Copics
Paper - Kraft, Kiwi Kiss, Aqua Mist, Whisper White, Summer Sunrise Bitty Dots
Miscellaneous - Silver Brads, Stylized Silver Hodgepodge, Twine, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge - Week 7

I created this card for this week's Raspberry Suite Color Challenge. The colors for the Week 7 challenge were Raspberry, Artichoke and Celery/Moss (and white if needed)... LOL, and I needed! My mojo always takes a HUGE nose dive after the fan club gallery opens on the 15th... LOL, it's kinda like a mini hibernation period before I gear up to start working on the next month's items. Suuuuuure it is! :P

I started with a standard A2 card base of Raspberry Fizz, which was stamped in Fresh Snow with the 2nd largest polka dot from Polka Dot Basics. Next, I scalloped a piece of Whisper White CS and attached it to the card base. I used one of the Nestabilities Labels Four dies to cut out a piece of white CS that I adhered to the card, then added the grosgrain ribbon and sentiment. The adorable elephant is from the Animal Crackers set from My Cute Stamps. That elephant has the sweetest little expression, I just love how happy he is! I made a little boo-boo and accidentally cut off his tail while I was trimming the image, so I just drew a replacement on with one of my pens. Shh, don't tell! ;) To finish up, I added a little sprig of leaves.

Have a great one! :)

Stamps - Animal Crackers (My Cute Stamps), Mega Mixed Messages & Polka Dot Basics (PTI)

Ink - Fresh Snow, Stazon Black, Ripe Avocado, Raspberry Fizz
Paper - Raspberry Fizz, Whisper White, Spring Moss, Ripe Avocado

Ink - Versamark, Fresh Snow, Kiwi Kiss, Stazon Black

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge - Week 6

I barely squeaked this card for the most recent Raspberry Suite Color Challenge under the wire yesterday! :) This week's colors were brown, light aqua, coral pink and white... So fun! LOL, I know, I say that every time, but it's true... Dawn has such a way with color and picks the most awesome combos! :)

This card came together pretty quickly. I started with a 5 1/4" square card base of acetate, then ran it through the Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots embossing folder. I use the largest Nestabilities Large Scalloped Rectangles die to create the Berry Sorbet scalloped square, then cut out the Dark Chocolate, Aqua Mist and Whisper White layers to size. I stamped the two flower images from Friends 'Til the End in Versamark ink, then heat embossed with white embossing powder. To finish up, I added some ribbon, stamped and punched the sentiment, and then added some clear rhinestones.

Have a great one!

Stamps - Friends 'Til the End, Mega Mixed Messages

CAS15 - Birthday Wishes

Monday's Clean & Simple Challenge on SCS was to create a card using black and white, and 1 bold bright. LOL, bold brights aren't usually the colors I tend to lean towards, so I substituted Papertreyink's Hibiscus Burst.

Have a great one!

Ink - Stazon Black, Hibiscus Burst
Paper - Whisper White, Basic Black, Black & White Basics
Miscellaneous - Hibiscus Burst Satin Ribbon, Prima Hydrangea, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, Scallop Border Punch

FTL41 - Friendly Birthday Wishes

I've been a bad blogger of late, but I hope you've all been doing well! :)

Both of my cards today use the Fall-to Layout Sketch #41 from the Clean & Simple Stamping blog.

I created this card using the little piece of candy from the My Cute Stamps Sweet Kawaii set. It has a bunch of yummy images that make me smile every time I look at them. And really, who doesn't love happy food?! :)

This card came together pretty quickly once I figured out the color combo I wanted to use. I started with a standard Bazzill White textured CS base, then added a small piece of Raspberry Fizz CS and green grosgrain ribbon. Next, I stamped the piece of candy three times, then colored them in with Copics. Once that was done, I cut them out and popped them up on a smaller piece of Whisper White CS.

Stamps - Sweet Kawaii, Mega Mixed Messages
Ink - Copics, Stazon Black, Memento Black

Paper - Whisper White, Raspberry Fizz, Bazzill White Textured CS
Miscellaneous - Green Grosgrain Ribbon

Here's the second card I created using the FTL #41 sketch. Same sketch, totally different feel. Gotta love that! :)

Have a great one!

SCS May Dirty Dozen Gallery

Here's a little sneak peek of one of the projects I uploaded this month into the Dirty Dozen May Gallery. If you're a Fan Club member, don't forget to hop on over and check out all the goodies! (Gallery opens at midnight.) :)

Spotlight Week 5 & A birthday!

I can't believe it! My card made it into the Spotlight this week! LOL, I was scanning through the top picks, and didn't even notice my card until I got down to the individual names! Heather P? Oh my word, that's ME! *insert flabbergasted face*

The Raspberry Suite challenges are one of my "must-do" challenges! Dawn has a serious eye for color and her combinations are always rockin'.

Isn't this the cutest?! My mom sent this adorable little cupcake bouquet to my daughter (My "baby" turned 4 yesterday!). It's crazy to think that another year has gone by. It truly seems like yesterday I was looking at her sweet face for the first time! Isn't it funny how time seems to stand still when you're young, but as you get older, it absolutely FLIES by?! Sometimes I wish I could press the pause button...

Here's Lindsay getting ready to take a huge bite of cheesecake... I wanted to get a couple of pictures of her on her birthday, but she didn't want to smile, she just wanted me to take shots of her eating. LOL

SC227 - Thanks So Much

I created this card using last week's SCS Sketch Challenge. Sorry about the poor photo, it was getting dark outside and I was in a hurry! Mental note to self, DUSK is not a great time for decent lighting... LOL

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge - Get Well Soon

Well, it's that time again! Time for another awesome set of colors for the most recent Raspberry Suite Color Challenge. :)

To create this card, I started with a standard A2 card base, and then cut out and layered Smokey Shadow, Whisper White and Raspberry Fizz Bitty Dot paper. I stamped the teapot image in Versamark ink onto the Bitty Dot paper, then heat embossed it with white embossing powder. To finish up, I used a corner rounder to create a scallop edge, stamped the sentiment repeatedly, added teeny tiny clear rhinestones, added some Hibiscus Burst grosgrain ribbon and used the flourish from the PTI Mother set to create some "steam" for the teapot.

Have a great one! :)

Stamps - Tea for Two, Mother

Ink - Versamark, Smokey Shadow
Paper - Whisper White, Smokey Shadow, Raspberry Fizz Bitty Dots, Hibiscus Burst
Miscellaneous - Clear Rhinestones, White Embossing Powder, Hibiscus Burst Grosgrain Ribbon, Corner Rounder

WT217 - Mom

Happy Friday! :)

I created this card for yesterday's Ways To Use It Challenge. The challenge? To use Kraft CS in some way on our cards... Easy peasy!! :)

To create the card, the flower and polka dot images were stamped on the Guidelines grid paper from PTI, I folded the ribbon down on a piece of sticky strip, punched a scallop border using a corner rounder, attached all the pieces to the card base and then stamped the sentiments. Fastest.card.ever! LOL

Have a great weekend!

Stamps - Because of You, Polka Dot Basics

Ink - Hibiscus Burst, New Leaf, Stazon Black
Paper - Guidelines, Kraft, Whisper White, Hibiscus Burst
Miscellaneous - Green Grosgrain Ribbon, Prima Hydrangea, Corner Rounder, Large Oval Punch

FTL40 - Thank You

I created this card using the Fall-to Layout #40 sketch, and the Matryoshka Dolls stamp set from My Cute Stamps. My mom used to watch my daughter three days a week when I was still working outside the home, and Lindsay was forever getting into my mom's Matryoshka Dolls, so I just HAD to get this set! She loves the little nesting dolls to pieces. :)

The background image was created by repeatedly stamping the small floral image in Kiwi Kiss ink onto the card base... LOL, I thought it was going to take a while to stamp it out, but it was done in no time! :)

Have a great one!

Stamps - Matryoshka Dolls
Ink - Kiwi Kiss, Memento Black, Copics
Paper - Whisper White, Basic Black
Miscellaneous - Red Grosgrain Ribbon, Marvy Giga Scallop Oval Punch, Marvy Mega Oval Punch

Week 4 Spotlight & CC217

I can't believe it! My card (A above) was picked as part of the In the Spotlight round-up for the Raspberry Suite Week 4 Color Challenge... *insert shocked face!*

This is the card that I made for the Raspberry Suite Week 4 Color Challenge (brown, white, and aqua). It didn't really turn out how I invisioned it in my head, but it seems that happens all too often. LOL :)

The polka dots were stamped with Versamark ink, and embossed twice with White Embossing Powder to give them good coverage and really make them pop.

Stamps - Polka Dot Basics, Friends 'Til the End

Ink - Versamark, Stazon Brown, Aqua Mist
Paper - Whisper White, Aqua Mist, Dark Chocolate
Miscellaneous - White Embossing Powder, Nestabilities Scallop Rectangle, Brown Satin Ribbon

----------------------------------------------

I created this card for yesterday's
Color Challenge on SCS... LOL, I didn't have any Ballet Blue or Garden Green paper, so I just tried the best I could to tie those colors in (green grosgrain ribbon & blue rhinestone brads).

Have a great one! :)

Paper - Whisper White, Basic Black
Miscellaneous - Blue Rhinestones, Green Grosgrain Ribbon

CAS13 - Happy Birthday

Happy Tuesday! :)

I created this card for Monday's Clean & Simple Challenge on SCS. This week's challenge was a sketch challenge, and I'm glad I was able to get a chance to play along. It took me ohhhhhh about 4 tries to get this silly card right (LOL... first I goofed the placement of the flowers and didn't put them far enough over to the right because I was doing a standard A2 base so they took up the entire width of the card, then on take 2 the flowers weren't even, and then finally I stamped the sentiment crooked... I was starting to think I should just give up! LOL).

Have a great one!

Stamps - Floral Frenzy, Mother

Ink - Ocean Tides, Kiwi Kiss, Stazon Black
Paper - Whisper White
Miscellaneous - Ocean Tides Swiss Dot Ribbon

WSC79 - Hello

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood, a beautiful day for... Rain? LOL, it's been raining here for the past couple of days, and it looks like it's going to continue later into the week... I'm not a huge fan of rain because it wipes me out, but looking on the bright side it's definitely good for all the plants in our garden... especially the weeds! Thistle weeds (persistent little boogers they are!) will be springing up like crazy! I made the mistake of allowing ONE thistle weed plant to seed and I've been paying for it for the past three years... I just can't seem to get rid of them... They just keep growing, and growing, and... :(

Anyhooooo... I made this card for Friday's Weekend Sketch Challenge. Jenn Balcer hosted the challenge last week, and her sketch rocked! She always comes up with the cutest things... I tend to get stuck in a rut and always want to make everything straight, straight, straight, so it's a nice switch to use a slanted image. :)

Have a great one!

Stamps - Polka Dot Basics
Ink - Hibiscus Burst
Paper - Lemon Tart, Hibiscus Burst, Whisper White, Aqua Mist, Whisper White, Basic Grey Urban Prairie
Miscellaneous - Aqua Mist Stitched Ribbon, Prima Hydrangeas, Basic Grey Eva Button, Basic Grey Urban Prairie Rub-ons

CC216, WT216, LSC218 - Friend

Happy Friday! :) We've been going back and forth between rain and partly cloudy skies today, but it looks like the sun actually wants to come out. LOL, I'm sure by the time I get out there to play with our pup, it'll be raining again! Oh well, I'll just do what I can do. :)

I originally created this card for today's Limited Supply Challenge on SCS, but was super excited when I realized it could also be tied in to this week's Color Challenge and Ways To Use It Challenge. Whoohoo!

Have a great weekend! :)
