FTL47 & LSC226

Happy Tuesday! Today marks the first day of summer school for my daughter... LOL, it was *rough* getting up this morning, let me tell ya... I'm such a night owl, and it's soooo easy to fall into that trap of staying up super late and sleeping in a little more than usual.

I made this card using the

Fall-to Layout Sketch #47... Have I mentioned before how much I look forward to these sketches?! ;)

Stamps - Star Prints
Paper - My Mind's Eye Just Dreamy 2, Whisper White, Pure Poppy
Ink - Kiwi Kiss, Stazon Black, Raspberry Fizz
Miscellaneous - Silver Pearls, Scallop Border Punch

------------------------------------------------------

LOL, oh lookie, it's ~another~ Slice mini-card! These little 4" shape cards are soooooo addictive, you have no idea! :P (I created this for last Friday's Limited Supplies Challenge.)

Have a great one! :)

Stamps - Night Owl, So Many Sayings
Paper- Dark Chocolate, Crate Paper "Prudence"

SC234 & WT224

I created this little 4" star card for yesterday's Ways to Use It Challenge. I used my Slice to cut out two 4" Kiwi Kiss textured CS stars, and then a 3 1/2" star from some Fancy Pants patterned paper I had lying around. Aside from placing all those little silver pearls, this card took almost no time. :)

Paper - Fancy Pants, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White, Pure Poppy
Miscellaneous - Silver Pearls, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, 1" Circle Punch, Slice Animal Crackers Cartridge

I created this card for Wednesday's Sketch Challenge. LOL, I was a little impatient waiting for the Stickles to dry, so I zapped them with my heat embossing gun... And to my surprise, the frosting got a little puffy! Woot!

Have a great one!

June Papertrey Ink Blog Hop

Thanks for stopping by! I'm so happy I was able to get a chance to play along with the Blog Hop this month. :)

I'm not a huge drinker, but have always thought that Mojitos would make such a wonderful summertime drink... They just look so *refreshing* and perfect for those super hot days! Thanks to the power of the internet, I was able to find the recipe for a "Nojito" (non-alcoholic), so now I can have the yum without the rum. LOL

Have a great one!

Stamps - Fruitful, Mega Mixed Messages, Polka Dot Basics
Ink - Versamark, Stazon Brown, Chartreuse, New Leaf
Paper - Acetate, Whisper White, Dark Chocolate
Miscellaneous - Crystal Effects, Small Oval Punch, New Leaf Satin Ribbon, Nestabilities Scalloped Rectangles, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge - Week 10

When I saw the colors posted for the most recent Raspberry Suite Color Challenge (cream, berry, melon & dark brown), Ruby Red Grapefruit popped into my head. So much so that when I was trying to figure out what I wanted to create, I couldn't come up with anything else. :P LOL, so sad! Does that ever happen to you? Do you become obsessed with images and ideas to the point where you can't create anything other than what you've imagined in your mind? LOL, that seems to happen to me a lot lately. I'll get some random idea in my head, and then one of two things happens... Either I figure out a way to create what I'm imagining and am psyched because it worked, OR (the more likely of the two), I'm disappointed because I can't figure out a way to get what's in my head to work IRL. LOL, I might need therapy. *wink*

Have a great one!

Stamps - Vintage Picnic Basket Sentiments, Fruitful

Ink - Melon Berry, Berry Sorbet, Stazon Brown

MOJO92 & VSJUN01 - Thanks!

I created this card using the Mojo Monday 92 Sketch. The little owl and tree images are from the Night Owl set from My Cute Stamps. One thing I really like about clear stamps vs. rubber stamps is that you can kind of alter the shape to fit your card stock (making sentiments curve, bending images, etc.), which helps you get more mileage out of a single set! The branch image is usually a little straighter, but it would've made the owl sit a little too high within the Whisper White panel I'd cut out (too close to my sentiment), so I curved the branch and made a little nesting area for the owl to fit in. :)

Have a great one!

Stamps - Night Owl
Ink - Memento Black, Summer Sunrise, Copics, Versamark
Paper - Kraft, Summer Sunrise, Aqua Mist, Raspberry Fizz Bitty Box, Whisper White
Miscellaneous - Lemon Tart Grosgrain Ribbon, Large Oval Punch, Small Oval Punch, Nestabilities Scalloped Rectangles

6.23.2009

LSC225/TECC73 & CTD47

I created this card using the most recent Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge sketch and combined it with last Friday's Limited Supplies Challenge. I wasn't sure I had any stamps with a foreign language, but luckily I remembered that Papertrey's Mega Mixed Messages has an itty bitty Merci stamp. Woot! :)

Stamps - Fruitful, Background Basics: Retro, Mega Mixed Messages

Ink - Lemon Tart, Versamark, Summer Sunrise, Chocolate Chip, New Leaf
Paper - Kraft, Lemon Tart, Summer Sunrise, New Leaf, Whisper White
Miscellaneous - Summer Sunrise Grosgrain Ribbon, Cuttlebug Swiss Dot Embossing Folder, New Leaf Button, Twine, Kaiser Yellow Pearls

--------------------------------------

This card was created using the colors for the most recent Color Throwdown Challenge. The challenge was to use Cameo Coral, Tempting Turquoise and Kiwi Kiss... LOL, Kiwi Kiss was the only color out of the three that I had, so I substituted Melon Berry and Taken With Teal for the other two. Fairly close, yes?

Have a great one!

Stamps - Friendly Flowers, Full of Life
Ink - Taken With Teal, Melon Berry, Stazon Black
Paper - Kiwi Kiss Textured CS, Taken With Teal, Whisper White
Miscellaneous - Stampendous Diamond Dot Stickers

FTL46 & CAS20

Happy Monday! Hope you all had fanastic weekends. :) This is the card I created using the Fall-to Layout Sketch #46. If you've never checked out the Clean & Simple stamping blog, you totally should! I *love* their sketches... Natasha, Becky & Harriet come up with great sketches time and time again.

Stamps - Friends 'Til the End, Ali Edwards Loving Words

Ink - Memento Black, Stazon Black, Copics
Paper - Kraft
Miscellaneous - Stickles, Black Ultra Fine Sharpie

----------------------------------------------------------

LOL, I know this card isn't my usual "style" (whatever that may be!), but I really like how it turned out! Hahah, I'm probably the only one, but I'm okay with that. :P Today's Clean & Simple Challenge on SCS was to create a card using paper piecing, so my first thought was this fun tree from Unity. I stamped the tree twice, once on Berry Sorbet Bitty Dot paper, and then again onto Whisper White CS. I colored in the leaves and tree trunks, and then cut them out and pieced them together. Next, I cut out a little strip of Ripe Avocado Bitty Box paper and scalloped the edge before adhering it to the card base. To finish up, I stamped the sentiment onto the "grass" and then outlined and cut out two wonky clouds. :)

Have a great one!

Stamps - Welcome Little Sprout (Unity), Great Expectations (Verve)
Ink - Memento Black, Stazon Black, Copics
Paper - Whisper White, Kraft, Ripe Avocado Bitty Box, Berry Sorbet Bitty Dot
Miscellaneous - Scallop Border Punch

TECC72 - Miss You

Happy Friday!! Anyone doing anything fun over Father's Day weekend? On Saturday morning I'm off to a baby shower, and then later in the afternoon we'll be going to my husband's cousin's 1st birthday party. LOL, I always get a kick out of the fact that my 34 year old husband has a cousin 33 years younger than him! That just seems crazy to me! :) On Sunday, we'll be off to church in the morning, and then heading down to VA to meet up with my parents and brother for lunch at Texas de Brazil. Yum!

This is the card I made for last Friday's Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge. I strayed a little (I didn't use three objects along the panel where I used ribbon), but overall tried to stay true to the sketch. At first, I *really* didn't like how it was coming together, but I just kept plugging and plugging and finally, success! LOL

Have a great weekend!

Stamps - Mega Mixed Messages, Polka Dot Basics, Sweet Pea

Ink - Memento Black, Stazon Black, Copics
Paper - New Leaf, Basic Black, Vintage Cream, Melon Berry
Miscellaneous - Small Oval Punch, Large Oval Punch, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Nestabilities Scalloped Rectangles Die, Melon Berry Grosgrain Ribbon, Cream Button

CC223 & SC233

I created this card for Tuesday's Color Challenge on SCS. This week, the challenge was to use Baja Breeze, Ruby Red & Whisper White. I couldn't find my Ruby Red ink pad (LOL, what does that say about the state of my craft room, eh??), so I substituted Pure Poppy.

I used Papertrey Ink's Background Basics: Retro stamp set to create a partial background on the base of the card, and used my Slice to cut out the two butterfly images. I adhered the butterflies together, then added the rhinestone centers before attaching it to the card base with pop dots. I added the sentiment and I was d.o.n.e. Whoohoo! :)

Stamps - Background Basics: Retro, Mega Mixed Messages

Ink - Pure Poppy, Basic Black
Paper - Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Baja Breeze DSP
Miscellaneous - Red Rhinestones, Slice Animal Crackers Cartridge

----------------------------------------------

This card was created for Wednesday's Sketch Challenge on SCS. At first I thought I might want to skip it this week because, well, I'm a chicken when I'm not sure I'll like the end results! :P LOL, I didn't want to go digging through all my patterned papers to find something that coordinated, so I figured hey, I'll just stamp some of the images in the Wise Owl set in Versamark and use that as my patterned paper. Who knew I'd end up channeling my inner Partridge Family?! (LOL, check out the bus here... My color scheme was pretty close!).

Have a great one!

Stamps - Out On a Limb, Wise Owl
Ink - Stazon Black, Pure Poppy, Versamark
Paper - Dark Chocolate, Aqua Mist, Pure Poppy, Summer Sunrise, Whisper White, Dark Chocolate Bitty Dots
Miscellaneous - Stickles, Stylized Silver Hodgepodge, Small Oval Punch, Kaiser Teal Pearls

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge - Week 9

Today's our official first day of summer vacation... LOL, too bad for my daughter it only lasts two weeks because she'll be heading off to summer school on the 30th! Poor kiddo! :)

This is the card I created for the most recent Raspberry Suite Color Challenge: leafy green, black and cream. Not my usual colors, but a very fun combo! This little card measures 4" round, so it would be great as a little notecard. I cut out two flowers with my Slice using the Noteworthy cartridge, and then used my Cricut to cut out the 3" New Leaf circle. The Vintage Cream circle was punched out with my Marvy Mega Circle Punch, and then stamped with the flourish before before stamping the Versamark dots (and heat embossing).

I stamped the sentiment around the edge of the New Leaf circle, and then added some clear rhinestones. To finish up, I assembled everything and added a bow, flower and button.

Have a great one!

Stamps - Polka Dot Basics, Mega Mixed Messages, Fancy Flourishes

Ink - New Leaf, Versamark, Basic Black
Paper - Basic Black, Vintage Cream, New Leaf
Miscellaneous - Clear Rhinestones, New Leaf Satin Ribbon, Prima, Button, Clear Embossing Powder, Slice Noteworthy Cartridge, Cricut Mini Monograms Cartridge, Marvy Giga Circle Punch

CAS19 - Wish Big/Hugs & Kisses

Today was my daughter's last day of pre-school, and it was kind of sad! They had a little show where they sang bug themed songs, and then they had a slide show of some of the pictures throughout the year. Linds really liked her teacher this year, and hopefully there will be another she will totally attach herself to next year. *fingers crossed* LOL, it wasn't hard to spot my child in the crowd, she was the only one who didn't wear her construction paper/sticker/pipe cleaner hat during the show... She waited until they were all released to come find their parents, and *THEN* she put hers on... LOL, so typical!

I created both of these cards for yesterday's Clean & Simple challenge on SCS. The challenge was a sketch challenge, so I knew I definitely wanted to try to play along!

Stamps - Star Prints

Ink - Basic Black, Kiwi Kiss
Paper - Kiwi Kiss, Basic Black, Whisper White
Miscellaneous - Black Grosgrain Ribbon, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Clear Rhinestones

LSC224 - Birthday Wishes

Happy Monday!!

I created this card for Friday's Limited Supplies Challenge on SCS... I think that's the first time I've ever been able to finish 5 SCS challenges in one week. :) Friday's LSC was to create a card using water/sand colors, ribbon, piercing and brads. LOL, I almost forgot about the piercing and brads, so I quickly added them to my tag. :P

It's a little hard to tell, but the My Cute Stamps owl image was covered with Stickles (well, his belly anyway!). A super simple card, but I think it's kinda cute. :)

Have a great one!

Stamps - Mega Mixed Messages, Polka Dot Basics, Little Forest Friends
Ink - Ocean Tides, Stazon Black, Memento Black
Paper - Ocean Tides, Whisper White, Ripe Avocado, Kraft, Aqua Mist
Miscellaneous - Silver Brads, Key Tag Punch, Curly Label Punch, Small Oval Punch, Nestabilities, Stickles, Aqua Mist Grosgrain Ribbon

WT222 - It's Your Day

I created this card for Thursday's Ways to Use It Challenge, which was to create your own distressed flowers. I started with a standard card base, then used my Slice to cut out the window and white frame. Next, I stamped the largest polka dot image from Polka Dot Basics in Versamark ink, and then stamped the white flourishes on the outside and inside of the card. To finish up, I stamped the sentiment in Stazon and then added my flower to the card. LOL, it took me a little while to get it finished, but that was mostly because I kept doing silly things that caused me to have to start over... Again... and again! Practice makes perfect, right?! :P

Have a great weekend!

Stamps - Polka Dot Basics, Fancy Flourishes, Star Prints

Ink - Versamark, Fresh Snow, Stazon Black
Paper - Whisper White, Aqua Mist
Miscellaneous - Imaginesce Cha Ching Brad, Slice Noteworthy Cartridge

6.11.2009

SC232 & FTL44

I created this card for yesterday's Sketch Challenge on SCS... That sketch was a doozy! LOL, I couldn't figure out how to make the smaller squares work off of the main image, so I just made them super-sized photo corners. *wink*

Stamps - Polka Dot Basics, Beautiful Blooms
Ink - Versamark, Kiwi Kiss, Raspberry Fizz, Stazon Black
Paper - Basic Black, Raspberry Fizz, Whisper White, Heidi Grace
Miscellaneous - Raspberry Fizz Grosgrain Ribbon

-------------------------------------

I *love* the sketches over on the Clean & Simple Stamping blog, but I haven't had a chance to play along over the past few weeks, so I thought I would attempt to catch up a little. :) I created this card using the Night Owl stamp set from
My Cute Stamps. LOL, and who doesn't love red-haired owls?! :P

Have a great one!

Stamps - Night Owl, Bundled in Love
Ink - Memento Brown, Copics, Stazon Brown
Paper - Kraft, Pure Poppy, Aqua Mist, New Leaf, Ocean Tides, DCWV Green Stack
Miscellaneous - Scallop Border Punch, Summer Sunrise Grosgrain Ribbon

CC222 - Wishing You...

This card was created for the most recent Color Challenge on SCS... White 1 layer cards! I started with a standard card base of Shimmery White, then stamped the Fancy Pants flourish image in Raspberry Fizz. I then stamped the sentiment, added the ribbon and bow, and finally, some clear rhinestones. Easy peasy!

Have a great one!

Stamps - Very Versatile, Fancy Pants
Ink - Raspberry Fizz, Stazon Black
Paper - Shimmery White
Miscellaneous - Raspberry Fizz Swiss Dot Ribbon, Clear Rhinestones
