CAS42 - Sending You Christmas Joy

Hi everyone! We're having yet another beautiful day here in the DC/Baltimore area. *rolls eyes* LOL, no really, it's cold, dark and rainy... again. :) Great weather to stay inside and make cards (well, if you can keep from napping!), but it makes taking outside photos a little bit more of a challenge...

This card was created for yesterday's Clean & Simple Challenge on SCS: sponging. LOL, would you believe, I can probably count on one hand (with room to spare) the number of times I've sponged something? I'm more of an embossing kind of gal, heat or dry. Yep, I think that's about where my "techniques" end. LOL, how one dimensional am I?!

Have a great one! :)

Supplies:
Stamps - Background Basics: Diamonds, Vintage Christmas Ornaments
Ink - Spring Moss, True Black, Bermuda Bay
Paper - Bermuda Bay, Spring Moss, Stamper's Select White
Miscellaneous - Marvy Giga Snowflake Punch, Green Rhinestones

CAS DT Challenge

112209, originally uploaded by inglishrea.

Hi everyone! Hope your week is off to a great start... We have dark skies and cooooold rain, so today's a total soup/stew day!

The Clean & Simple Challenge team on SCS is looking to fill spots for their Winter DT. They have 3 different challenges (sketch, inspiration & theme), and you can enter one or all of them. If CAS is your thing, get on over there and post a card! :) There's still one week to go before the new DT selection starts!

I chose to make a card based off of a sketch... :) I stamped one of the images from Guide Lines 2 in white ink three times each onto Hibiscus Burst, Raspberry Fizz & Pure Poppy CS, then punched them out with my 3/4" circle punch. I stamped the sentiment, then attached the circles to the 4 1/4" square card base with pop dots.

Have a great one! :)

Supplies:
Stamps - Guide Lines 2, Tree Trimming Trio
Ink - Fresh Snow, True Black
Paper - Hibiscus Burst, Raspberry Fizz, Pure Poppy, Stamper's Select White
Miscellaneous - 3/4" Circle Punch

CAS41 - Thank You

Happy Monday! Hope you're all doing well! :) Sorry for the lousy photo, I had some issues taking pictures today... I promise it doesn't look so drab IRL! :) I'll try to sneak some time later today or tomorrow morning to get a new pic.

I created this card for today's Clean & Simple Challenge on SCS. The challenge today was to create a card based on a purse by Vera Bradley... And this is the purse I chose:

Carnaby Tote

Have a great one! :)

Supplies:
Stamps - Beautiful Blooms, Giga Guidelines
Ink - Smokey Shadow, Raspberry Fizz, Summer Sunrise
Paper - Smokey Shadow, Stamper's Select White
Miscellaneous - Corner Rounder

CAS38 - Celebrate the Season

Happy Monday! My hubs went back to work today on light duty after being out for three weeks with his broken ankle. It's great to sort of get back to "normal" here, but it'll be even better once his ankle is fully healed and he can drive again! LOL, I am *not* a morning person, so having to get up super early to get him to work makes for a looooooooong day. :)

This card was created for today's
Clean & Simple Challenge on SCS. The challenge today was to create a card using eyelets or brads. You can't tell in the photo, but I used my bone folder to create a score line above and below the punched circles.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day! I'm off to snag a little nap before picking up my daughter from school. LOL :)

Supplies:
Stamps - 2008 Holiday Tags
Ink - Fresh Snow, Smokey Shadow
Paper - Stamper's Select White, Raspberry Fizz, Hibiscus Burst, New Leaf
Miscellaneous - White Brads, 1 3/8" Circle Punch

CAS34 - Happy Birthday

Howdy hey! Hope you're having a great Monday! All is well in our camp, my daughter is off from school today so we're just hangin' out.

Today's card was created for the most recent Clean & Simple Challenge on SCS. Today's challenge was to use shades of pink, green and blue. I used a 1 1/4" circle punch to punch out circles in various colors, then stamped them with the smallest polka dots in the Polka Dot Basics 2 set before adding them to the card base with pop dots. Stamp your sentiment and voila, you're done! LOL, it doesn't get more simple than that!

The dots on the Aqua Mist circle look a little washed out in the photo, but are much more visible IRL. Will be back later with a better pic. :)

Have a great one! :)

Stamps - Handwritten Notes, Polka Dot Basics 2
Ink - Versamark, Fresh Snow
Paper - Aqua Mist, Hibiscus Burst, Spring Moss, Raspberry Fizz, Dark Chocolate
Miscellaneous - 1 1/4" Circle Punch, Corner Rounder

CAS33 - Filled With Gratitude

Good morning and happy Tuesday! I don't know about you, but I did *not* want to get up this morning. LOL, good thing I have to take my daughter to school, otherwise I might've slept in 'til who knows when. :)

This card was created for yesterday's Clean & Simple Challenge on SCS, which was a sketch challenge. I was going to make it a 3 1/2" x 6" card (like the sample sketch card), but somehow forgot and ended up with just a standard A2.

Sorry for the photo... I'm having issues with the hinges on my laptop, and it doesn't quite sit at the proper angle to get the true colors in the image... I can't tell if it's too washed out, too bright and grainy, or somewhere in between. LOL

Have a great one!

Stamps - Peaceful Poinsettias, Fall Elegance
Ink - Orange Zest, Soft Suede
Paper - Kraft, Whisper White, Dark Chocolate Bitty Box
Miscellaneous - Aqua Mist Stitched Ribbon, Corner Rounder, Pearls, Teal Rhinestones, 1" Circle Punch

CAS32 - Wishing You...

Hey! Top of the mornin' to ya! :) Today's Clean & Simple Challenge on SCS was to create wedding cards. LOL, surprise, surprise, I reached for In Bloom... Yet again! This set might just be my favorite EVER. :)

I stamped the flower and leaf images in Versamark ink, then heat embossed them with white American Crafts Zing powder. I swiped the card first with my embossing buddy (which I think has a corn starch type powder in it), but still had little straggly pieces of embossing powder that did *not* want to come off the card when I tapped it. Short of using a teeny paintbrush to pick off the individual embossing granules, do any of you have tried and true methods to keep excess powder from sticking to the card? It's driving me nutso. :)

Have a great one!

Stamps - In Bloom (PTI), Very Versatile (SU!)
Ink - Fresh Snow, Versamark
Paper - Basic Black
Miscellaneous - White Embossing Powder, Corner Rounder

CAS31 - A True Friend

Happy Monday! Hope you're enjoying the holiday (here in the US), or just having a fabulous day! :) I created this card for today's Clean & Simple Challenge: pop it up! LOL, I seem to have a pop dot addiction, so it wasn't hard for me to play along with this challenge.

Have a great day!

Stamps - In Bloom
Ink - Soft Suede
Paper - Kraft, Bermuda Bay, Old Olive
Miscellaneous - Aqua Satin Ribbon, Aqua Pearl

CAS28 - Have a Hoot

Yesterday's Clean & Simple Challenge on SCS was to create a masculine card. No flowers? No bows? No sparkle? Um, yeah, that's totally within my comfort zone... *wink* LOL

It's a little hard to tell in the photo, but the Owls irises were colored in with a Copic that matches the Spring Rain paper.

Enjoy your evening!

Stamps - Wise Owl
Ink - Stazon Black, Pure Poppy
Paper - Pure Poppy, Whisper White, Spring Rain Bitty Box
Miscellaneous - Spring Rain Grosgrain Ribbon, Silver Pearls

FTL54 & CAS27

Happy Monday! Hope all is well with you! :) Today is supposed to be a hot one here... Maybe even the hottest day we've had all summer... It's been so mild up until this point!

This is the card I created using the Fall-to Layout #54 sketch. I stamped the largest flower from In Bloom, and then colored it in with one of my copics to give it a little more interest. I then added the frame and sentiment, as well as some rhinestones. Easy peasy!

Stamps - In Bloom, Vintage Basket Sentiments
Ink - Stazon Black, Copics
Paper - Ocean Tides
Miscellaneous - Stickles, Clear Rhinestones

This next card was created for today's Clean & Simple Challenge: Bling!

I stamped some of the images from the In Bloom set in white ink and then added stickles... Just pretend when you look at the card that they're already dry. *wink* LOL

Stamps - In Bloom, Echoes of Kindness (SU!)
Ink - Fresh Snow
Paper - Enchanted Evening
Miscellaneous - Fresh Snow Grosgrain Ribbon, Stickles

CAS26 - Nothing Better...

Happy Monday, guys! Hope your week is off to a great start! :)

I created this card for today's Clean & Simple Challenge: stitching. The flower and polka dots were stamped with the same color, so I'm not really sure why they look so different! Ah well, better luck next time I suppose! :)

Stamps - Polka Dot Basics 2, In Bloom
Ink - Melon Mambo, Stazon Black
Paper - Whisper White, Melon Mambo, Spring Moss

CAS25 - Trust...

Happy Monday! Hope your week is off to a great start!

I created this little 4 1/4" card for today's Clean & Simple Challenge. I started out with a 5 1/4" card, but it just kept getting smaller and smaller and finally ended up being teeny. LOL

Stamps - Plain Janes (Verve)
Ink - Stazon Black
Paper - Whisper White, Summer Sunrise, Basic Black, Raspberry Fizz In Bloom
Miscellaneous - Cuttlebug Swiss Dot Embossing Folder, Aqua Mist Twill Ribbon

Fun News & CAS24

Happy Monday!!

Some fun news! I'm one of the new Featured Designers for Whipper Snapper for the July & August term! Wooot! I was totally shocked when I received an email from Anna Wight asking me if I would like to be a designer... I mean, ME?! LOL, coloring in images is not my strong suit. :) Hahah, I know most people are somewhat self-deprecating, but I *mean* it. :P My friend Sandra was one of the Featured Designers for the last term, and she is amazing! She could color circles around me with her eyes closed, using nothing but a q-tip and crayola paint!! LOL

In all seriousness, I am truly grateful for the opportunity to work with the new featured designers, it means so much that they would take a chance on me! :)

This is the card I created for today's Clean & Simple Challenge on SCS. Today's challenge was a color challenge: Turquoise, Yellow & Orange. Such fun, summery colors! :)

I created this little 4 1/2" square card for yesterday's Clean & Simple Challenge, using this piece of artwork from art.com as my inspiration.

Stamps: Floral Frenzy (PTI), Loving Words (Technique Tuesday)
Paper: Kraft
Ink: Stazon Black, Taken With Teal

------------------------------------

This is the card I created using the most recent
Fall-to Layout Sketch. I started with a standard card base of Aqua Mist, then cut out two smaller layers of Raspberry Fizz and Whisper White. I used one of the stamps from Park Avenue Patterns to create the background, and then punched out some flowers with two daisy punches onto Bitty Box and Dark Chocolate paper. I added some ribbon, the sentiment and pink pearls, and voila, done!

Have a great one! :)

Paper - Aqua Mist, Rasberry Fizz, Whisper White, Dark Chocolate, Aqua Bitty Box Basics
Ink - Close to Cocoa, Stazon Brown
Miscellaneous - Lemon Tart Stitched Ribbon, Daisy Punches, Pink Pearls

CAS22 - Birthday Wishes

This is the card I created for today's Clean & Simple Challenge on SCS. Today's challenge was to make a birthday card... Easy peasy! :)

I started with a Whisper White card base, and then stamped the large floral image from the Ashley's Blossoms set from My Cute Stamps in Memento ink. Once that dried, I colored in the flower images with Copics, punched out a Raspberry Fizz butterfly and added the sentiment.

Have a great one!

Stamps - Ashley's Blossoms (My Cute Stamps), Vintage Basket Sentiments (PTI)
Paper - Whisper White, Raspberry Fizz
Ink - Memento Black, Copics, Stazon Black
Miscellaneous - Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch

FTL46 & CAS20

Happy Monday! Hope you all had fanastic weekends. :) This is the card I created using the Fall-to Layout Sketch #46. If you've never checked out the Clean & Simple stamping blog, you totally should! I *love* their sketches... Natasha, Becky & Harriet come up with great sketches time and time again.

Stamps - Friends 'Til the End, Ali Edwards Loving Words

Ink - Memento Black, Stazon Black, Copics
Paper - Kraft
Miscellaneous - Stickles, Black Ultra Fine Sharpie

----------------------------------------------------------

LOL, I know this card isn't my usual "style" (whatever that may be!), but I really like how it turned out! Hahah, I'm probably the only one, but I'm okay with that. :P Today's Clean & Simple Challenge on SCS was to create a card using paper piecing, so my first thought was this fun tree from Unity. I stamped the tree twice, once on Berry Sorbet Bitty Dot paper, and then again onto Whisper White CS. I colored in the leaves and tree trunks, and then cut them out and pieced them together. Next, I cut out a little strip of Ripe Avocado Bitty Box paper and scalloped the edge before adhering it to the card base. To finish up, I stamped the sentiment onto the "grass" and then outlined and cut out two wonky clouds. :)

Have a great one!

Stamps - Welcome Little Sprout (Unity), Great Expectations (Verve)
Ink - Memento Black, Stazon Black, Copics
Paper - Whisper White, Kraft, Ripe Avocado Bitty Box, Berry Sorbet Bitty Dot
Miscellaneous - Scallop Border Punch

CAS19 - Wish Big/Hugs & Kisses

Today was my daughter's last day of pre-school, and it was kind of sad! They had a little show where they sang bug themed songs, and then they had a slide show of some of the pictures throughout the year. Linds really liked her teacher this year, and hopefully there will be another she will totally attach herself to next year. *fingers crossed* LOL, it wasn't hard to spot my child in the crowd, she was the only one who didn't wear her construction paper/sticker/pipe cleaner hat during the show... She waited until they were all released to come find their parents, and *THEN* she put hers on... LOL, so typical!

I created both of these cards for yesterday's Clean & Simple challenge on SCS. The challenge was a sketch challenge, so I knew I definitely wanted to try to play along!

Stamps - Star Prints

Ink - Basic Black, Kiwi Kiss
Paper - Kiwi Kiss, Basic Black, Whisper White
Miscellaneous - Black Grosgrain Ribbon, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Clear Rhinestones

CAS18 - Thanks So Much

Happy Tuesday! Things are gearing up here for the end of the school year (hard to believe we only have 1 more week until summer vacay starts), so there's definitely lots to do around here between now and then! :)

I created this super simple card for yesterday's Clean & Simple challenge on SCS. Yesterday's challenge was to use kraft, pink or coral, and another color. With all of us being sick last week, and the June 15th Gallery deadline looming, my mojo is tanking, big time. LOL I just keep plugging away, hoping that if I stay consistent it'll come back. :P

Have a great one!

Miscellaneous - Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Cuttlebug Butterfly Die, Sweet Blush Buttons

CAS15 - Birthday Wishes

Monday's Clean & Simple Challenge on SCS was to create a card using black and white, and 1 bold bright. LOL, bold brights aren't usually the colors I tend to lean towards, so I substituted Papertreyink's Hibiscus Burst.

Have a great one!

Stamps - Mega Mixed Messages, Autumn Leaves - Jazzy Swirls

Ink - Stazon Black, Hibiscus Burst
Paper - Whisper White, Basic Black, Black & White Basics
Miscellaneous - Hibiscus Burst Satin Ribbon, Prima Hydrangea, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, Scallop Border Punch
