Happy Monday! LOL, well, if there *is* such a thing! :)

I created this card for Friday's Limited Supply Challenge using the most recent Weekend Sketch Challenge... This week's challenge was to only use 1/2 sheet of CS for the card base, and nothing else! No other "plain" paper. We also weren't allowed to use Copics, crayons, markers, etc., and had to limit embellies. LOL, I know it looks like I used Whisper White CS, but the white paper is from the Basic Grey Urban Prairie paper pad and has the lightest brown distress marks on the surface (I had a super hard time picking that up with my camera). LOL, it might still be considered cheating, but hey, I tried! :)

WSC79 - Hello

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood, a beautiful day for... Rain? LOL, it's been raining here for the past couple of days, and it looks like it's going to continue later into the week... I'm not a huge fan of rain because it wipes me out, but looking on the bright side it's definitely good for all the plants in our garden... especially the weeds! Thistle weeds (persistent little boogers they are!) will be springing up like crazy! I made the mistake of allowing ONE thistle weed plant to seed and I've been paying for it for the past three years... I just can't seem to get rid of them... They just keep growing, and growing, and... :(

Anyhooooo... I made this card for Friday's Weekend Sketch Challenge. Jenn Balcer hosted the challenge last week, and her sketch rocked! She always comes up with the cutest things... I tend to get stuck in a rut and always want to make everything straight, straight, straight, so it's a nice switch to use a slanted image. :)

WSC78 - Little One

I created this card for last Friday's Weekend Sketch Challenge using the Little Forest Friends set from My Cute Stamps. LOL, I sat there for a while staring at the sketch (my mojo is gone-o), but once I decided what stamp set I was going to use, everything else just kind of fell into place.

I started out with a standard A2 card base, and stamped the teensy mushroom image randomly with Versamark ink. Next, I stamped the owl and branch image with Memento Brown ink onto Whisper White CS, and once that was dried, I colored them in with Copics. To finish up, I cut a strip of Raspberry Fizz Bitty Dot paper, punched a scallop Kiwi Kiss border, added a yellow Hydrangea flower, and punched out and pierced the sentiment. Easy peasy! LOL, just what I needed today!

I think it's so neat that we can all be working from the sketch or set of colors, and yet, our creations are so completely different!

Big News, A Little Peak & WSC76

Back in February, I got a mysterious email from Jenn Balcer over at Splitcoaststampers asking if we could talk. LOL, my immediate reaction was that I must've done something wrong, maybe I had added something to the gallery that I shouldn't have, and I was in trouble (which is so silly because I probably would've just been pm'd by a gallery mod!). Well, much to my surprise, Jenn asked me if I wanted to be a member of the Dirty Dozen... My response? I *gasped*! LOL, I think my first words were something like "are you serious?"...

I mean, me? Really? Be on the Dirty Dozen? This must be a prank! LOL, the rest of our conversation is pretty much a blur, but two months later, here I am! I'd entertained the idea of maybe one day trying to get on a design team or two, but always hesitated because my skin isn't very thick! I never ever imagined that I would be a part of something so awesome. I still have a hard time believing it!

This month they're doing something a little different in the gallery... Each Dirty girl has chosen one specific project to give away to an SCS Fan Club member. The good news is all you have to do is leave a comment on that project to be randomly chosen! The bad news is you won't know which project it is, so go with your gut (or maybe your favorite project), and leave a comment or two or ten and it could be yours! :) You have two weeks to comment from the day the gallery is revealed before the winner is chosen.

This card came together super fast... I created it for Friday's Weekend Sketch Challenge (WSC73), and also tied it in with Thursday's Ways To Use It Challenge (WT210) in which we were to incorporate stickers onto our cards.

I started with a standard A2 card base, then cut out two strips of Basic Grey Urban Prairie paper. I scalloped the edge of the yellow paper, then adhered by pink layer before attaching it to the card base. Next, I used my Square Scallop Punch to punch out three shapes, then adhered them to the card base with pop dots. Then I grabbed my Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch and punched three shapes out of some of the scrap pieces of my Sticky Cuts Alpha sheet. Before dipping my butterflies in glitter, I removed the backing paper from the butterflies and adhered them to some scrap Whisper White paper. To finish the card, the butterflies were attached with pop dots, then the wings were bent up a little, and I added my sentiment. Super easy! I I love glitter, but man, that stuff is sooooo messy! Even when you think you're being totally careful and not getting it everywhere, you still find it on random things! :)

WSC72, CAS06 & TLC212

This 6x6 scrapbook layout was created for the Weekend Sketch Challenge (WSC72). Jenn Balcer hosted this week's sketch, and she rocked it! I absolutely LOVE this sketch.

This page came together really quickly, minus the drying time for the white circle background on the bottom and the stickles. LOL, I'm glutten for punishment or something, because I thought it would be fun to give sparkly little centers to each of the small circles. I didn't do a good job of capturing it with my photo, but the sparkle is lovely. The photo is one of my all-time favorites of my daughter (who'll be 4 in May)... Where does the time go??

I started with a 6x6 base of Bazzill's new embossed dot card stock, and then cut out the aqua layer and adhered it to the base. I thought about using my Top Note die, but the cut piece wasn't large enough, so I started rifling through my stash... I just bought this Bo Bunny Alissa paper last week, and this shape came from the tags page, all I had to do was cut it out. Sweet! :)

Then I cut a 2 1/2 x 6" piece of Basic Black card stock, and stamped the circle background repeatedly with Fresh Snow ink. While that was drying, I picked out some flowers, added the buttons, and layered my photo. Then I dotted the stickles in the circle centers and set my project aside for the night... LOL, stickles take forever! I would've used my heat gun, but my daughter was down for the count and I didn't want to wake her. To finish the page, I placed some dots around the aqua patterned paper, varying their size, adhered the Basic Black card stock to the base, added the white pom-pom trim, my photo and the flowers, as well as stamping I Love You around the top left of the picture.

I created this card for Monday's Clean & Simple Challenge (CAS06), and the Technique Lover's Challenge (TLC212).

The Clean & Simple challenge was to pick something from the Robeez web site and use that as your inspiration. I picked the cutest pair of owl shoes... There's just something about the expression on the owl's face that makes me laugh every time I look at the shoes. I paired this challenge with the Technique Lover's Challenge, which was to create a ribbon frame. The technique is super easy and packs a punch on the right card... LOL, I think it may have been a little much on mine. :P

I started with a standard card base in Whisper White, and layered a 4 x 5 1/4" piece of the pink Bazzill Dot. I then stamped the owl and wing images onto Chocolate Chip card stock, and the eyes onto Whisper White using Stazon Brown ink. Next, I cut out a 3 x 3 1/2" piece of Sweet Always DSP, and attached it to the pink paper before cutting the slits for the ribbon pieces to go through. Once the ribbon frame was complete, I attached that layer to the card base. To finish off the card, I stamped the sentiment, cut out and assembled the owl, die cut some pink leaves and gave her a teeny tiny little bow. :)

WSC71 - Hello...

I created this card for Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge. You can get all the details and find a copy of the sketch here. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to throw something together that I'd be satisfied with (ya know, my own worst critic and all), but I think it turned out okay. Maybe cute even!

I'm so glad we're finally getting some Spring-like weather. I've never been a big fan of the whole "Spring Forward" time change because I love my sleep, but I definitely like it staying lighter for longer periods of time. Nothing like sunshine, warm temps and cheesy 80's music! Definitely my prescription for a smile. :)

WSC37 - Everything to me...

I feel like I have less time now as a SAHM than when I was "working"... LOL I certainly managed to post more often, and I had a 4 hour commute!!

I'm hoping that I'll be able to post a little more consistently going forward, so keep your fingers crossed! I have two different sets of wedding invitations that are due around the same time (Apr. 7th), and swap cards to put together/mail out in the next week, and I haven't even figured out what they're going to be yet. LOL, how do I always manage to do this to myself? Ugh, the joys of not being able to say "no"... :)

I had my second official unsubscriber the other day... Booo, hisss! LOL Just kidding... I appreciate everyone that comes here to see what I'm up to, but I understand that lives get busy and you have to really pick and choose who you want to get updates from. :) I'm not one to take it personally, but I think the dagger in my heart was "Content no longer relevant" listed as the reason. Um, ow! :P LOL No seriously, what does that mean anyway? Not up to snuff? Not producing often enough? Not having the right kinds of projects? Oy vey! :)

Just do me a favor... If you have to go, can you just pick "other"? LOL

WSC36 - You Make My Life...

It feels like it's been forever since I've done one of Beate's awesome Weekend Sketch Challenges! No better time than the present to get back out there and start doing them. :) This card was created for Beate's WSC36 Challenge. You can find her original post here.

I started with a standard card base of Basic Gray, then cut out the main panel layers (Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Bali Breeze DS) and used the Ticket Corner Punch on the corners before adhering htem to the card base.

Next, I stamped my image onto Whisper White CS, and layered it onto Purely Pomegranate, Pumpkin Pie and Basic Gray CS's. I scalloped the edge of the Basic Gray CS before attaching the sentiment to the card base with pop dots.

I then used my Crop-a-dile to punch 6 holes onto the card front so I could add some Basic Gray Tafetta Ribbon to the card. To finish off the card, I layered three of the Accents & Elements Felt Flowers and held them together with a Build-a-Brad.

WSC28 - L O V E

This card was created using Beate's WSC28 Weekend Sketch Challenge. You can find her original post and gorgeous sample here.

I started with a standard card base of Purely Pomegranate CS (4 1/4 x 5 1/2"), then cut out my other base layers (Chocolate Chip - 4 1/8 x 5 3/8", Soft Sky DS - 4 x 5 1/4") and attached them to the base.

I then stamped the large flower and the heart from the Time Well Spent stamp set in Black Stazon Ink onto WCP, then colored them in using Purely Pomegranate, Soft Sky and Groovy Guava inks.

While the images were drying, I cut out the layers for the center panel (Chocolate Chip - 3 1/4 x 4 1/8", Soft Sky - 3 1/8 x 4", Groovy Guava DS - 3 x 3 7/8"), and then attached them together. I then layered the Purely Pomegranate Satin Ribbon with a piece of Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon and attached them to the panel before adhering it to the card base.

To finish up the card, the heart image was attached to the flower image using a pop dot, then the image was attached to the panel and the sentiment was stamped in Chocolate Chip ink.

WSC27, CC141 - Unto Us

This card was created using Beate's WSC27 Weekend Sketch Challenge, as well as this week's CC141 Color Challenge on SCS. You can find Beate's original post here.

I started with a 5 1/4" square card base of Pretty In Pink, then cut out the Whisper White (5" square) and Wild Wasabi (4 7/8" square) layers. I used the Ticket Corner Punch on the Whisper White and Wild Wasabi layers before adhering them to the card base and adding brads.

Next, I stamped my image onto Whisper White CS in Stazon ink and colored it in with Creamy Caramel, Basic Brown, Wild Wasabi and Pretty In Pink inks.

While the image was drying, I cut out the Wild Wasabi and Pretty In Pink circles and used my Crop-a-dile to punch the holes for the ribbon. I then adhered the three circles together and wove the Pink Satin Ribbon through the punched holes before attaching the layers to the card base.

To finish off the card, I stamped my sentiment onto Pretty In Pink CS (1 x 2 3/4"), and layered it onto Wild Wasabi (1 1/8 x 2 7/8") and Whisper White (1 1/4 x 3"). The sentiment was then attached to the card base using mini-pop dots.

WSC26 - Peaceful Wishes

I was going to try to go to bed at a fairly reasonable time tonight, but "Kids by the Dozen" came on, and I couldn't help but watch. This episode is featuring a family that has 17 children. Nope, not a typo... 17! I can't even imagine, but wow!

This card was created for Beate's WSC26 Weekend Sketch Challenge. You can find her original post with the sketch and a wonderful sample here.

I started with a 5 1/4" square card base of Chocolate Chip CS, then cut out the other layers for the base (Purely Pomegranate - 4 x 4 1/2", Soft Sky - 3 3/4 x 4 1/4", Old Olive DS - 3 5/8 x 4 1/8").

Next, I stamped the main image in Old Olive ink and the sentiment in Chocolate Chip ink, and then used my Quickie Glue Pen on the buds of the image before adding Crystal Transparent Glitter. While the glitter was setting, I cut out the layers for the image (Soft Sky - 2 1/4 x 3 3/4", Purely Pomegranate - 2 1/8 x 3 3/8").

To finish up the card, I added a piece of Purely Pomegranate Satin Ribbon to the base layers before attaching them to the card, and then adhered the image layers to the card base.

WSC25, CC139 - Be Merry

Wow, I can't believe it's been a week since I've put a stamp to paper... At any rate, I'm back! :)

This card was created for Beate's WSC25 Weekend Sketch Challenge. You can find her original post and tutorial here. This is a Z Fold card... Never made one before, but they are so cute! I knew I wanted to use Soft Sky (I'm going through withdrawal since I've been using Fall colors lately... LOL), but wasn't sure what I was going to pair with it. This week's Color Challenge on SCS was to use Soft Sky, Wild Wasabi & Ruby Red, so that made it easier for me! LOL

I used Beate's tutorial to create the Z Fold out of the Soft Sky CS, then stamped the large Fabulous Flower flower three times onto Whisper White CS in Ruby Red ink.

While those were drying, I also stamped the small Fabulous Flower flower in Soft Sky and the medium flower in Wild Wasabi ink. I then cut out all of the flowers, and added Xmas Red Stickles to the petals of the Ruby Red flowers.

I then cut out the layers for the image: Whisper White (2 5/8 x 3 3/8"), Basic Black (2 3/4 x 3 1/4") and Wild Wasabi (3 x 3 1/2"), and then adhered them together. I also cut out the layers for the panel on the left side of the card: Wild Wasabi (2 5/8 x 4 1/8"), Basic Black (2 1/2 x 4"), and Soft Sky DS (2 3/8 x 3 7/8"). I used the Ticket Corner Punch on each of the three panel layers before attaching them together. I added three strips of ribbon (2 Wild Wasabi & 1 Soft Sky) to the panel, then adhered it to the card. Next, I used my paper piercer to punch a hole in each corner around the panel, then added black brads to the card base.

Once the Stickles were dry, I used Mini Pop Dots to attach the three layers of the large red flower together, then attached it to the image panel before attaching it to the card base.

To finish off the card, I added the two small cut out flowers to the card base to help keep the card closed, then stamped the Be Merry sentiment in the upper right hand corner in Basic Black ink.

Weekend Sketch Challenge 24

This is what I came up with for Beate's WSC24 Weekend Sketch Challenge. You can find Beate's original sketch on her blog here.

I started with a 5 1/4" square card base of Really Rust, then cut out the 5" square Chocolate Chip and 4 7/8" square Apple Cider DS layers.

Then I stamped the large flower from Jolies Fleurs onto Watercolor Paper in Stazon Timber Brown ink three times and colored them in using River Rock, Really Rust, Old Olive and Chocolate Chip inks.

While the flowers were drying, I cut out the River Rock (3 x 3 3/4") and Chocolate Chip (3 1/8 x 3 7/8") layers for the backdrop.

Next, I cut out the layers for the small panel: Really Rust (2 1/8 x 3"), Chocolate Chip (2 x 3"), and Apple Cider DS (1 7/8 x 3"). I adhered the layers together, then tied a piece of Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon before attaching it to the card base with the CC and Apple Cider DS layers I cut earlier. Once those were attached to the card base, I adhered the backdrop for the flowers.

To finish this off, I stamped my sentiment in Chocolate Chip ink, and added glitter to my flower centers before attaching them to the card with mini pop dots.

Weekend Sketch Challenge 23

I'm caught up!!! :)

This card ended up being a bit of a stretch from the original sketch, but this is what I came up with for Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge 23. You can find her original post with the sketch here.

I started with a 4 1/2" square card base of Sage Shadow, then cut out my Whisper White (4 1/4" square) and Soft Sky (4 1/8" square) layers.

Then, I inked up the large flourish stamp from Baroque Motifs with Sage Shadow and stamped it onto the Soft Sky layer. I attached the WW and SS layer together before adhering them to the card base.

Next, I glued my On Board Blossoms & Basics chipboard flower to a piece of Groovy Guava DS paper, then cut it out with my exacto knife. I used my Basic Grey Precision File Kit to sand down the edges of the flower before using Mod Podge and sprinkling the flower with Transparent Glitter.

While that was drying, I cut out a 1 1/4 x 2 1/4" piece of Sahara Sand and stamped my sentiment with Groovy Guava ink. I then cut out a 1 3/8 x 2 3/8" piece of Sage Shadow, and used my ticket punch on the corners before adhering them together.

The flower was attached to the card base off center with two of the petals hanging slightly over the edge, and the sentiment was layered on top with pop dots. Easy peasy! :)
