Have a great one! :)

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge 2 - Thanks

Happy Monday! :) LOL, that's an oxymoron right? I mean, happy and Monday together? Psha! :P

I created this card for the Raspberry Suite Color Challenge 2 over on Dawn McVey's blog. Once again, she picked a totally fun and fabulous color combo!

This card is pretty self-explanatory, so I won't bore you with the details... (LOL, no thanks necessary.) :) The only thing really worth mentioning is that the damask images were embossed with clear embossing powder, but you can't really see that in the photo. It's somewhat sunny here today, so you'd think I would've been able to get a better shot with my camera. Ah well, better luck next time I suppose!

Have a great one! :)

I made this card for today's Inspirational Blog Hop using the Cuter Than Most stamp set and the sketch from Mojo Monday this week... I don't know what it is about this set, but these images make me smile every time I look at them.

Here's one of my favorite quotes... (I'm an 80's girl, so bear with me...LOL):

"Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in awhile, you could miss it."
-Ferris Bueller :)

Thanks for stopping by my blog... Be sure to go check out Julie's blog next!

Have a great one! :)

TECC61 - Featured Cupcake Sampler

I'm the Featured Cupcake Sampler over on the Taylored Expressions
blog today. Can you believe that?! It's crazy, I know! I'm just totally overjoyed right now. :)

I ~love~ sketch challenges, and Taylor's weekly sketches are one of my faves! They are a great starting point and I just love the layouts she comes up with. I haven't come across one yet where I think to myself, how am I going to make this work for me? If you haven't ever participated in one of her challenges, you should head on over there and check it out. You'll be glad you did!

Have a great one!

WT211 - My Fabulous Friend

I created this card for today's Ways to Use It Challenge on SCS. The challenge today was to use "Hot Metal" aka our iron. LOL, it took me a minute or two (or ten) to even REMEMBER where mine was! Haha, how sad is that?!

I started with a standard card base in Basic Black, then cut out a 4 x 5 1/4" Raspberry Fizz panel. I stamped the sentiment on the bottom of the CS, then ran it through my Cuttlebug.

Next, I cut out a small piece of fabric, and layered it on top of a piece of fusible webbing and Whisper White CS. I placed a piece of parchment paper on top of the stack and used my iron to bond the fabric to the Whisper White CS. Once that was done, I removed the parchment paper and ran the fabric/paper panel through my Cuttlebug with the Top Note die.

To finish up, I attached some Raspberry Fizz grosgrain ribbon, popped up the fabric panel on pop dots, then adhered it to the card base.

Have a great one! :)

Stamps - Friends 'til the end

Ink - Stazon Black
Paper - Basic Black, Raspberry Fizz, Whisper White
Miscellaneous - Fabric, Cuttlebug Swiss Dot Folder, Raspberry Fizz Grosgrain Ribbon, Top Note Die

March PaperTrey Blog Hop

I've never participated in the PaperTrey Blog Hop, so please forgive me if I somehow manage to screw this up... LOL :)

This card came together pretty quickly once I determined how I wanted to lay out the grid and pattern. One thing I love about the Guidelines and Guidelines 2 sets is that you can combine them for even more fun patterns. (The blue and green images are from the Guidelines 2 set, and the pink images are from the first Guidelines set.)

Thanks for stopping by! :)

Stamps - Guidelines, Guidelines 2, Mega Mixed Messages

Ink - Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Pretty in Pink
Paper - Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss
Miscellaneous - Prima Flower, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, Stickles, Kiwi Kiss Satin Ribbon

CAS07 - Embrace Happiness

I created this card for this week's Clean & Simple Challenge on SCS. This week our challenge was to use punches... LOL, so punches it was! I think this was the fastest card I've ever made... Well, once I stopped trying to decide if I wanted raspberry butterflies on a lemon circle or lemon butterflies on a raspberry circle. Back and forth and back and forth. :P The color combo I used was for the Raspberry Suite Week 1 Color Challenge over on Dawn McVey's blog. Her color combos are always totally fun and fresh. Love 'em!

Have a great one!

Stamps - Mega Mixed Messages

Ink - Summer Sunrise
Paper - Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Raspberry Fizz, Lemon Tart

TLC213 & FTL34

I created this little basket for yesterday's Technique Lover's Challenge. Claire Brennan came up with this adorable basket, and was kind enough to share her template with all of us. You can find the details about the challenge, as well as the template here.

Miscellaneous - Scallop Circle Punch, Little Leaves Sizzlit, 1 3/8" Circle Punch

TECC60 - Wish

Happy Monday! :) The sun is shining, our windows are open, and I totally feel like a nap! LOL, I won't get one, but maaaan, it would be nice.

I created this card for last Friday's Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge. I didn't a chance to upload it here last week, so here it is. :)

I started with a standard A2 card base in Basic Black, then layered a piece of the Bitty Dot paper on top. Next, I cut out my aqua solid and aqua patterned papers, and attached them together. I grabbed a scrap piece of Raspberry Fizz paper, and then scalloped the edge. I attached the scallop and a piece of Raspberry Fizz Twill Ribbon to the aqua layers before adhering the panel to the card base. To finish off the card, I stamped the sentiment, then stamped the image onto Whisper White paper, punched it out with my mega oval punch, layered it on top of a Basic Black scallop oval, and then attached to the card base with pop dots. Whew, that was wordy!

Have a great one!

Card base - Basic Black (4 1/4 x5 1/2"), Bitty Dots (4 x 5 1/4"), Aqua Solid SEI Dill Pickle (3 1/4 x 4 1/4"), Aqua Pattern SEI Dill Pickle (3 x 4")

Mojo78, WSC73 & WT210

I created this card for this week's Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. I really liked this sketch... I had a little trouble with the rounding on the bottom of the image panel, so I cheated and put my sentiment there. LOL

Card base - Whisper White (4 1/4 x 5 1/2"), Aqua SEI Paper (1 x 4"), Green SEI Paper (3/4 x 4"), Floral SEI Paper (3 1/2 x 4")

Image layer - Brown SEI Paper (1 1/2 x 4"), Whisper White (1 1/4 x 3 3/4")

Stamps - Feel the Joy (Unity), Mega Mixed Messages (PTI)

Ink - Stazon Brown, Berry Sorbet
Paper - Whisper White, SEI Dill Pickle, Berry Sorbet
Miscellaneous - Small Oval Punch, Large Oval Punch, Berry Sorbet Satin Ribbon, Corner Rounder

----------------------------------------------

This card came together super fast... I created it for Friday's Weekend Sketch Challenge (
WSC73), and also tied it in with Thursday's Ways To Use It Challenge (WT210) in which we were to incorporate stickers onto our cards.

I started with a standard A2 card base, then cut out two strips of Basic Grey Urban Prairie paper. I scalloped the edge of the yellow paper, then adhered by pink layer before attaching it to the card base. Next, I used my Square Scallop Punch to punch out three shapes, then adhered them to the card base with pop dots. Then I grabbed my Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch and punched three shapes out of some of the scrap pieces of my Sticky Cuts Alpha sheet. Before dipping my butterflies in glitter, I removed the backing paper from the butterflies and adhered them to some scrap Whisper White paper. To finish the card, the butterflies were attached with pop dots, then the wings were bent up a little, and I added my sentiment. Super easy! I I love glitter, but man, that stuff is sooooo messy! Even when you think you're being totally careful and not getting it everywhere, you still find it on random things! :)

Card base - Whisper White (4 1/4 x 5 1/2"), Pink BG paper (2 1/2 x 5 1/2"), Yellow BG paper (3 x 5 1/2")

Stamps - *gasp* None!

Paper - Whisper White, Basic Grey Urban Prairie
Miscellaneous - Aqua Vinyl Thickers, Scallop Edge Punch, Square Scallop Punch, Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch, Glitter, Sticky Cuts

TECC59 - Friends for Life

I created this card using the Taylored Expressions Sketch from last Friday. Such a super fun sketch! :)

I really like the new PTI Hibiscus Burst pink color... LOL, then again, what shade do I NOT like? :) What's really funny is that I spent my childhood/adolesence/young adulthood totally disliking any and all pink. Just ask my mom. :) I swore up and down I would never like it, and yet, here I am... I just can't get enough! :P

Have a great one!

Stamps - Life, Guidelines 2

CC210 - Wish Come True

I created this card on Tuesday for this week's Color Challenge over on SCS. This week, we were to work with Kraft, Riding Hood Red and Summer Sun... LOL, when I first read those colors, I thought there was no way I am going to like this combo, but I was totally wrong! It's fun! :)

Have a great one!

WSC72, CAS06 & TLC212

This 6x6 scrapbook layout was created for the Weekend Sketch Challenge (WSC72). Jenn Balcer hosted this week's sketch, and she rocked it! I absolutely LOVE this sketch.

This page came together really quickly, minus the drying time for the white circle background on the bottom and the stickles. LOL, I'm glutten for punishment or something, because I thought it would be fun to give sparkly little centers to each of the small circles. I didn't do a good job of capturing it with my photo, but the sparkle is lovely. The photo is one of my all-time favorites of my daughter (who'll be 4 in May)... Where does the time go??

I started with a 6x6 base of Bazzill's new embossed dot card stock, and then cut out the aqua layer and adhered it to the base. I thought about using my Top Note die, but the cut piece wasn't large enough, so I started rifling through my stash... I just bought this Bo Bunny Alissa paper last week, and this shape came from the tags page, all I had to do was cut it out. Sweet! :)

Then I cut a 2 1/2 x 6" piece of Basic Black card stock, and stamped the circle background repeatedly with Fresh Snow ink. While that was drying, I picked out some flowers, added the buttons, and layered my photo. Then I dotted the stickles in the circle centers and set my project aside for the night... LOL, stickles take forever! I would've used my heat gun, but my daughter was down for the count and I didn't want to wake her. To finish the page, I placed some dots around the aqua patterned paper, varying their size, adhered the Basic Black card stock to the base, added the white pom-pom trim, my photo and the flowers, as well as stamping I Love You around the top left of the picture.

Stamps - Background Basics: Retro, Damask Designs

Ink - Fresh Snow, Stazon Black
Paper - Bazzill Dot Pink, Basic Black, Whisper White, Bo Bunny Alissa
Miscellaneous - Bo Bunny Alissa Flowers, Buttons, Stickles, Pom-Pom Trim

I created this card for Monday's Clean & Simple Challenge (
CAS06), and the Technique Lover's Challenge (TLC212).

The Clean & Simple challenge was to pick something from the Robeez web site and use that as your inspiration. I picked the cutest pair of owl shoes... There's just something about the expression on the owl's face that makes me laugh every time I look at the shoes. I paired this challenge with the Technique Lover's Challenge, which was to create a ribbon frame. The technique is super easy and packs a punch on the right card... LOL, I think it may have been a little much on mine. :P

I started with a standard card base in Whisper White, and layered a 4 x 5 1/4" piece of the pink Bazzill Dot. I then stamped the owl and wing images onto Chocolate Chip card stock, and the eyes onto Whisper White using Stazon Brown ink. Next, I cut out a 3 x 3 1/2" piece of Sweet Always DSP, and attached it to the pink paper before cutting the slits for the ribbon pieces to go through. Once the ribbon frame was complete, I attached that layer to the card base. To finish off the card, I stamped the sentiment, cut out and assembled the owl, die cut some pink leaves and gave her a teeny tiny little bow. :)

Enjoy your day!

Stamps - Wise Owl
Ink - Stazon Brown
Paper - Whisper White, Bazzill Pink Dot, Sweet Always DSP, Chocolate Chip
Miscellaneous - Regal Rose Ribbon, White Gel Pen, Little Leaves Sizzlit, 3/4" Circle Punch, Chocolate Satin Ribbon

Color Inspiration 45 - He made everything beautiful

This week's Color Challenge on Kristina Werner's blog was to use black, gray and white... And nothing else! :)

This is what I finally came up with... LOL, I say finally because the number of flower images that ended up in the scrap pile was ridiculous! It's hard to tell in the picture, but just about everything on the main image is popped up separately, the Basic Gray layer, the Nestabilities frame, the gray flower, and the flower center. Hey, what can I say? I likes me some pop dots! :P

Card base: Basic Black (4 1/4 x 5 1/2"), Whisper White (4 x 5 1/4"), Bitty Dots (3 7/8 x 5 1/8")

Main image: Basic Gray (3 1/2" square), Nestabilities Label (Largest)

SC219 - You're a hoot

This card was created for Wednesday's Sketch Challenge on SCS. I just bought these super cute Bo Bunny papers yesterday, and couldn't wait to cut them up. LOL, not really, anyone who knows me knows I am a HOARDER when it comes to paper. I'm trying to work on it, though. :)

The little owl is from the PaperTreyInk's Wise Owl set (yes, I know, I just used it the other day... what can I say, I'm a little obsessive... LOL). I'm an 80's girl, and I wanted my owl to join in on the fun, so what better way to do that than to go back to the glorious days of blue eyeshadow? :)

Card base: Basic Black (4 1/4 x 5 1/2"), Pink Pirouette (4 x 5 1/4"), Bo Bunny Alissa Floral (3 7/8 x 5 1/8")

Triangle layer: 3 5/8" square cut diagonally
Main image: Basic Black (2 1/2 x 3"), Baja Breeze (2 3/8 x 2 7/8"), Whisper White (2 1/4 x 2 3/4")

Stamps - Wise Owl

Ink - Stazon Black
Paper - Basic Black, Pink Pirouette, Baja Breeze, Bo Bunny Alissa
Miscellaneous - Little Leaves Sizzlit, Pink Pom-Pom Ribbon, Nestabilities Labels, Baby Boy Stickles

TLC211 & CC209 - Thinking of You

I created this for this week's Technique Lover's Challenge & Color Challenge over on SCS. You can find the tutorial for the little treat purse here. Rose Red and Always Artichoke aren't normally colors I tend to reach for, so this week's color challenge was perfect. It's good to go out of your comfort zone every once in a while, right? :) Nevermind the fact that I sat there staring at a pile of supplies wondering just how I was going to get it to work for me. LOL

Stamps - Botanical Blooms
Ink - Stazon Black, Rose Red, Always Artichoke
Paper - Whisper White, Basic Black, Rose Red
Miscellaneous - White Polka Dot ribbon, Nestabilities Labels, Brads, Word Window Punch, Always Artichoke Grosgrain Ribbon, Cotton Candy Stickles
